It's just a set of beat up Style 5s that I'm going to refinish. I got them for a steal and when they're all done, I should be in less than $500 for the wheels

I look forward to spending hours slaving over these wheels in the summer heat working my way to a mirror finish.

On a side note, I started my new job yesterday. I'm just a shop hand making minimum wage in a non air conditioned garage, but it's better than working retail over the summer.

Also I split two of the wheels this morning. I got the hang of it and I should be able to finish the other two in less than an hour tomorrow. I need to go out and buy some aircraft stripper and aluminum polish tonight

I got all the wheels split. Maybe if I post on here I'll get motivated to clean all the wheels and strip the paint on thursday when I have the day off work.





Also this is the widest tire I have ever seen sitting in the back of the garage at work.

Fun fact about those tires: they are a 405/25/r24 and pirelli is the only one that makes a tire that wide and they are about $1k each

really tiny update, my shorty valve stems came in the mail. I probably won't work on the wheels tomorrow because I'm going up to South Carolina to buy fireworks. Murica.

Today I got out the industrial grade degreaser and cleaned up the wheels. the rest of the grime should come off at some point between the paint stripper and the sanding.

One of the wheels had someone's name or something carved into the barrel under all that brake dust. So Zamaludin will live on until I sand and paint the barrels.

It's gonna be a busy week but hopefully I'll get to work on the wheels more. I wanna finish the paint stripping by the end of the weekend, but I have work tomorrow and Saturday will be fireworks and loneliness while I play the roll of "third wheel" at my friend's 4th of July party.

He may have a girlfriend but I have wheels so who's the real winner here?

I also put the rubber hose back on the intake because the hose that attaches to the bottom of it wasn't sealing right with the silicone one and it was causing a rough idle and a whistling sound.
