My car was sort of put on the back burner because my friend and I picked up an e36 really cheap and fixed it as a project and then sold it. So now that that's gone, I'm not completely broke and I have some time to work on my own car.

    The project started like this

and it ended up like this

That car needed new rear shocks bad. Like a light breeze would get that thing bouncing up and down endlessly. So I finally got around to replacing my raceland shocks with brand new raceland shocks that I got with the car and never got around to putting on, then put the old ones on the white car

And that's when I found out why my trunk turns into a swimming pool when it rains. Someone had cut holes through the trunk to reach the top of the shocks instead of just opening the tonneau cover. But guess where the drain for the water that gets under the tonneau cover are. Right next to the shocks. So now all the water just pours straight into the trunk. Wonderful.

Then today I got my new expansion tank on. The clip at the top snapped off so until I get around to plastic welding it, zip ties are the answer. this is also how I found out someone put stop leak shit in the coolant at some point, because the sensor was covered in it.

I was gonna get a bunch of other stuff done early this week, but I've gotten pretty busy and it'll be a while before I get around to it now

For the last week or so it's been raining every day and this car leaks absolutely everywhere, so I took the hard top off and "fixed" two of the leaks. A new front seal for the hardtop is $300 so I opted for some $10 weatherstripping from Ace hardware

Then, a couple days before christmas, I picked up some m3 trim and a zhp knob and finally got it all on a couple days ago

Those were the tires i originally wanted because they are literally the only 195/45 tire i could find but i found out they wear real fast and they were way more expensive then neo gens so i got them instead.

In the last few days before I left, I had to rush to get stuff done that I wouldn't be able to do while I'm in school. In an effort to fix some more of the leaks I took the top back off

put some rtv around the bolts that water is leaking through to get into the trunk. Super professional work, I know.

and took out the trunk carpet since it was soaked

Then in the last few days before I left, my horn stopped working. I had the spare wheel I got with the car so I went to swap it and found out that the wiring had been messed with at some point and the connection on the clockspring was different than the one on the car

So first I fixed that, then got the wheel on

                  well something doesn't line up

                  I wonder why

As soon as I sat down I figured it out

So I swapped the clocksprings since I figured that was the problem with the other wheel

                  old one off

                  new one on

And my horn still doesn't work. Time for a new wheel I guess.

Then came the long trip down to school, which was made even longer by taking a 20 or so mile detour for these

It's the only set of Style 38s I've seen for sale or in person for that matter. They cost me a whole $50 for the set

                        • two updates in one day... this one is a bummer though. some stuff came out from my clutch pedal and it wouldn't engage so the cops at the murder scene across the street pushed me into a parking lot since I was stuck on a busy road with no shoulder. it was incredibly awkward

                            • No real progress, but I got some really good pictures taken of my car that make it look way better than it does in person.

Also since I know everyone doesn't check the off topic section, I made a thread about Savannah for the European Experience since I live right in downtown and I realize a lot of people may have questions about Savannah

                              • So no pictures of this update, but I had the car in the shop for almost a week and in that time it got:
                                • Timing chain, tensioners, and everything related to that
                                • vanos rebuilt with a new valve cover gasket
                                • all the transmission seals
                                • 3.38 LSD, which made a huge difference.

and here's some pictures I just never posted
