LS swap with ITB would be pretty sweet, make power, be light, and have a lot of aftermarket support. But I see why you would want to sway away from it.

A German straight six would sound nice with the RR and could be set up to fit the look of the car too. For how much power the chassis can handle, you might be able to get away with an I4.

You could try to source a Bentley 6 3/4 engine. Possibly slap a supercharger on it.

Power wise, a turbo would be nice and add some sound. But I think it might wreck the look.

Big money for those pieces right there man. You are a lucky dude. I only wish one day I can come across something as prestigious and beautiful as that. Do it justice (as I know you will!)

This was my first thought as well. Would fit perfect. Not to mention that the BMW V12 looks amazing...

Yes I completely agree that would look amazing!

I don't sleep. I work 50 hours a week at my day job, go to the shop all night, then come home and work on the business stuff until 2am. Then wake up at 5am to do it all over again lol. I think its time to quit my job and just run Motor Mavericks.

I'm still managing though. The Mercedes is almost ready to start going back together so that should start moving fast again. Been slowly collecting parts for the AWD 2.5T swap in the MK6. Hopefully I can gather everything I need before spring and just bang it out in a few weeks or so before SoWo. I need to pick out a new daily before I do that though which is really what's holding me up. I really want a Porsche GT3 lol.

ITB's are a must with my vision. ITB's poking through the hood, and open headers firing out the side. I'm very comfortable with anything from the BMW platform as well

What about like a bmw v12 from the older 7 series or 8 series.

They only have like 300 horsepower but with some long tube headers and proper finish on the engine I think it could work.

Switch to carburetors as well maybe with some polishing i think it could turn out well.

Goodluck, thank you for taking on this project!
Actually I really like that idea, would be much for affordable than the Ferrari motor. 300HP is close to the upper limit I think this thing could handle anyway.

Here's some photos of the car while it was being disassembled. The biggest issues are that one large section of the frame is completely rotted through and the other is that the body (which is framed by wood) has fallen apart so it was disassembled as well. Believe it or not though, after disassembling, it sits now as a rolling chassis still.

The good news is that I found a local place that restores these pre war RR's and will most likely be rebuilding the wood framing of the body from scratch (w/ a 6" shorter roof line that is). Now the way these work is that the aluminum panels are then attached to the wood frame to complete the body itself. So I'll probably just recreate the aluminum panels as well and attach those to the new wood framing. That way I don't have to chop up anything original. I'll most likely just sell the original panels since they'd go for a fortune like everything else I'm not keeping. As for the frame, the shop across the street from me does wild framework including custom frames and restoring old Model A's and stuff.

With those two aspects taken care of it leaves me to do the drivetrain, suspension, interior and finishing. Shouldn't bee too bad considering I have at least $30,000 worth of parts to sell off of it lol. Anyone have any ideas for a good motor to swap into it? I was thinking of swapping a Ferrari powerhouse into it, but the more I think of it the more I realize that this chassis can't handle that much power. It'd be a big expense that I wouldn't get to enjoy to its full potential so much. Don't say LS swap it either...
