    Cheers bro.
I have a deadline of my own to work to with this project. I'd do it all this winter, but then who would care about the Mercedes I'm building if I put this out there at the same time lol The planned completion date is either November 2015 or May 2016, but there will be a lot to show during the build from now until then.

Any old British aero engine? Ofcourse the Merlin or even the Griffon would be... ''Ideal'' but just aero engines in general would be epic.

You could try any of the older GM engines (such as the stovebolt I6's) or maybe even a GMC 702ci "Thunder" V12, which sounds awesome.

There's plenty of really cool and unique vintage engines. Many of which have a fairly strong aftermarket, and forums full of experts who could answer any questions you have.
    This ^^^

I'll sell you my I6 out of my 48 chevy... That could be a cool power plant. It'll need a serious rebuild though.

Aside from the shear weight this would be perfect.

How about the toyota 1gzfe with itb's? 310hp, torque for days, and its a v12. Due to the design of the intake manifold you could run quad throttle bodies using the lower intake manifold. or bin that and run 12 itbs.
