I like them but they just dont work as one piece wheels. They look so much better as splits.

I think Borbet As will be my next wheel for the BX.

Not much done on the car the last couple of days. Instead Ive been stripping everything off my parts cars, since I promised my mum I would have had them crushed a year ago.

The great thing about parts cars is you can do dumb shit like rolling them on their sides to get parts off the bottom.

In case you're wondering, that '70 beetle is also mine. I will get around around to it someday.

I also got a pretty good surprise when I took the suspension off the mk3:

Theyre damper adjustable and progressive rate Konis, I believe they had a price tag of around £750!

Neither of the seals look to be blown so I think with some media blasting and a repaint theyll be sweet.

I dont think I mentioned it before but the reason I got my Bagyards so cheap was because one of the bags was damaged. I got a price from HP Drivetech (formerly Bagyard) to replace it. £130, which was about what I was expecting and leaves them still pretty cheap.

Anyway I sent the strut to them around 3 months ago and still havent got it back.

Im hoping that If I can save the front coilovers I can use them whilst I wait for the bag to be done.

              Still no major update.

              BUT

Today I picked this up from fellow stanceworker "lukeybabes", who lives in the same town as me.

I spent the rest of the day clearing one of the sheds so that I can roll the car in there to work on it.

If there are any motorcycle enthusiasts amongst you, this entire pile is NOS Moto Guzzi parts!

I also found a useable pair of NS-II's which is pretty sweet.

Got back to work on the bay, I picked up a dremel which is making everything so much easier. I can get right into the corners now.

This is the the side I haven't started cleaning up yet:

And here's the other side which I'm about 60% through.

After that I threw some primer over everything to keep it from rusting.

I also swapped out the tail lights, I was getting loads of water coming in below them everytime it rained so I stacked two gaskets this time.

I also found this beneath the seal :/ im not really sure how to deal with it. Since if I cut it out, the seal isn't going to fit properly.

Wait you said guzzi parts? Is there a dutch army gearbox for the v50 with the kickstart?

Really like your Jetta and your attention for the details!

Yeah, my dad bought out the stock from a dealership that was closing down years ago. We definitely have some v50 parts, there's a whole box of NOS tank covers if you could be interested in one?

I'll ask about the gearbox. Do you have any more info on it?

And thanks, it's getting there now. I'm looking forward to when I have the bay finished and I can start fitting tasty parts!

A little more progress today. I have the majority of the seam sealer removed from the strut towers. I'm planning on not removing everything around the back of them. Since it will loads of extra work for something you don't really see.

I didn't get to spend as long on it last night as I would've liked. But made some progress none the less.

I got the drivers side chassis leg basically done. It needs some kind of finer filler just to take car of a couple pin holes but that's it.

I also removed about as much sealer as I'm planning to on the other side. I've just got to blend it in a little more.
