1987 Renault 5

So after a fun year of having this:




I bought another recently. It's much tidier so will be a bit different to my previous one



Here it is after the front lowered



And the interior with the new wheel and boss. Nice and tidy

Thanks! I'll take some nice photos on my camera soon. Interior will be staying like that, it's a nice contrast to my old stripped-out interior. When the back is lowered I'll be looking for some new wheels, will be going with 13's since my old one had 14's which aren't the best fit for these cars, not to mention that they were 9.5j rears..

Itching to get the rear lowered.. Here's some advice: Avoid old french cars, everything is either seized and/or broken.

It's not a renault 5! It's a renault super 5.

And the white 205 on the picture is an 1.6L Gti! The 205 T16 (turbo) have a wild large body kit

As Tchimik said, it is indeed a 1.6l Gti. And I've still got the other white 5.

Thanks yeah it's very clean all over. Wheel wise, I'd like ATS Classics but it's been done to a fair few 5s so I think I'm going for Allycats

Yeah same thing haha, supercinq as the french call it, or supershit as I do.

Oh and also, here's how low I'm planning to go. This was the white 5 before I raised it a little to accommodate the 9.5j rear wheels. But because on this new one it will have 'normal' wheels it will be able to stay as low as the old one did in this photo.

Typical french piece of curse word, torsion bar still doesn't want to move. Will probably just take the rear axle from my other 5. Here's a photo nonetheless - still mostly the same sadly but will look awesome when it's all the right height.

Well, it's now down a fair bit. More to come soon, it's gunna be a significant amount lower.

So the rear is now down, time to think about wheels...

Long-ish post, so today I figured I would try out the banded steels from the old R5. My wide angle lens has never really fit properly so some pictures are still a bit off-looking and the driveway isn't flat haha

Anyway, first thing was new plates - out with the old and in with the new.



The recess area was really dirty so I cleaned that up before putting the new one on..



The result, applied with the double sided stuff, no screws which is a little cleaner looking.



Then it was time to try the steels..

I'm not sure yet, I've got a huge want to have it as a long term project but that means I would need to get rid of my other long-term project first haha.
