Ohh man this is like the nicest 5 I've ever seen. I always wanted to see this thing slammed on some decent wheels but sadly none bothered until you came along haha. I'd prefer some diamond racing wheels, which look like widened steelies but way cleaner looking.

There's a lot of nicer 5's haha, oh well. Also Weller wheels are basically the same as Diamond Racing wheels, there's very little difference

Quick (half) fill today, should do for the rest of the week and the trip to and from collecting the wheels.
Also decided to see where the speedo actually ended. It did 90mph which doesn't sound like much, but it's the absolute limit for one of these so it's a bit of a laugh. It's run really well ever since it overheated and blew a hose last month too which is nice.

Thanks! There aren't many in the UK. It makes a massive 45bhp to the front wheels, about a third of what the GT Turbo makes haha. Anything with upwards of 100bhp will make one of these pretty quick though, they weigh 800~kg as standard.

Ditched the Wellers. (they're going on my '76 Escort instead)

Cool little 5 man, had great craic in my buddy's one years ago - as you said 90mph in a Renault 5 is adventurous, there's usually a lot of shaking going on at that point! The MKII looks well in the background too, I like your style

Yeah exactly that haha! My old one had no interior apart from the front seats, doing 90mph in that was a little less civilised than this one.

And thanks there's two Mk2's, one of them is running this right now.

I love that one truely because at the time that was genuinely considered cool and desirable.. Oh how things have changed haha. It's actually not that bad though - Max Power and Fast Car magazine cars of the 90's were much worse.

Anyway back on topic, there'll be a few more little jobs done over Christmas break.
