So first order of business was to hook up all of the hoses now that the engine was in. The power steering lines were ready to hook up except I had to take the old hard lines from the 240 and cut the male end that fed into the rack on the return line and flare it and cram that hoe into the soft line provided. As pictured below.
So the line install was going very well until I tried for 30 minutes to thread the return line into the rack and finally realized that the threads in the rack were stripped/crushed. Probably because of something dumb I did when pulling the motor or in the many attempts to fit the motor in the car. Either way I had to order the right size tap from out of state, cause nobody carries that large of a metric tap apparently.
After that fun was over, I hooked up the oil filter relocation, which is the best idea anyone has ever had. Also a very easy install.
In order to tighten those two lines that thread onto the fittings in the oil pan, I took this poor little 1 in spanner and introduced it to the grinding wheel.
Here it is!
I just drilled three holes in the fender and mounted the bracket seen earlier to the fender.
Made this intake with the u-bild-it intake or whatever its called from earlier in the thread. I didn't install the maf or temp sensor yet I know.
Okay. So, here's another fun day. I spent all day trying to install the driver side headers. Passenger side goes in and out in 3 seconds. Driver side has to clear the steering shaft so it is a little fatter and wont fit up from the bottom or from the top because of clearance against the frame. ... Had to pull the motor out 6 inches, then install them. I sprayed the gaskets with copper spray, and used the hex bolts from sikky. Which I would like to note HAVE RUSTED IN LIKE THREE DAYS.
Sent the pcm to wiring specialties for anti theft, evap, governer, etc delete, as well as a base tune. They sent it back with a stand alone harness and a dakota digital speedo calibrator. Wiring Specialties is awesome. This harness took all of 15 min to install.
Took a break from wiring to mount this surge tank. The silicon hoses are temporary and the one off to the left is a temporary atmosphere dump. I wanted to run this tank to raise the height of my radiator cap and to be able to accept a hose from the ls steam port. The cap is 1.3 bar, and the hose running out the bottom of the tank T's into the lower rad hose. I forgot to mention that the rad hoses, my mom and I made from the hoses on the complete ls pullout. Just cut them up and they magically fit. I will make an overflow tank in the future.

I forgot in the above pic I installed the dip stick, which had a hole already in Sikky's oil pan and just needed the fitting threaded in then insert the tube and dip stick. Also you can see in this picture that I reused the ls pullout's battery and alternator charging cables which made my life a breeze, they were the perfect size.
Soo, this is a little bit of professional work. I had to send this piece off to a shop to be fixed properly. The throttle cable bracket from the ls motor, didnt work too well with the 240's throttle cable attach point, it would hit when open full. I had to have a moment of creative genius. I tried flipping it upside down and it helped a little but not quite. I later realized that different model ls motors from different applications have different style throttle bodies and throttle lobes or whatever they're called. Well mine is the wrong kind so I modified the bracket to my liking. Here it is bent to sh*t and hacked up by the 'professionals'.
Bought these adapters so I could pull the old sensors for coolant temp and oil pressure off the 240 motor and adapt them the the holes in the ls block. Pretty sweet. This allows use of the factory 240sx gauges in the dash.
Later found out that the bottom one in the above pic is the wrong temp sensor, this is what is looks like...
One more time, all wired up and the throttle cable attached, fuel filter regulator in place with new lines run to the fuel tank.
Added the vette covers to see.. Not sure how I feel about it

Realistically speaking, the vette engine covers should remain (imo) to not only pay homage, but, to mess with the less knowing individuals :PInstagram : @SHMVNY_GVNG

Alright, I agree. I'll leave them on for now, thanks for the suggestion. Most people would otherwise think that was the stock 240 motor without them.

haha, I would obviously rather an inline 6 turbo motor, but my knowledge of autos is so limited, like I said, before starting this the most 'mods' I did to a car was paint the hubcaps and brake calipers...

I was skeptical at first, but this has been a great thread. I have a degree in autobody and if I had found all that rust, I would have ditched the car and found something else. I admire your optimism and figuring out how to fix it. Look forward to seeing this done.
