The first order of business was to fix how high the seats sat in the car. Now there are a lot of ways to go about this, and I wanted to take my time and do it right. After a lot of searching on the forums, I had a pretty good idea how to tackle the situation.
Another look at the awaiting engine bay.
Put the engine mounts on the block, pretty straight forward. There's a DVD made by Bravo Motorsports on how to install most of the sikky swap kit parts, with torque specs.
This is a little plug for the old dipstick hole in the block with some sealant on the threads.
I took the oil pan off for a quick inspection and to install Sikky's swap pan to clear the subframe and steering rack instead of modifying the existing frame through cutting and welding (although I wouldn't have minded to cut more holes in the car at this point).
I also cut this part of the baffle in order to clear the new pan. And here are closer pictures of the welding on the new pan.
"Fast Unk" and I painted the new sledge in order to begin the trans tunnel coercing that was about to begin.
That's my padre talking dirty to the trans tunnel.
Then I realized it was getting real as the ls creeped towards the engine bay...
Then we tried to fit it in like 3 times, hammering more and more and retrying and just couldn't get the mounts to line up. I was getting pretty wild.. and I was worried that I was going to ruin everything...
I'll let you know what happened next time.
