Shit Brandon, you really are following me to the ends of the internet and spamming my threads with euro weaves. You don't even stance. I think this might be the only forum we're both a member of that I'll end up with more posts than you.

Fine. You've got me. I'll get some euro weaves. I think I can get a set with caps for $250-$300 and have them shipped for another $100.

I put my old wheels up for sale today. I think I'll put the Alulines on until the weaves arrive, and I can move the tires over and sell the alulines.

Well, things are starting to speed up again. I've got a surplus of parts to go onto the car, and a deficit of time to put them on.

          Parts waiting to go on:

          ~55 Watt 5000k H1 HID headlights
          ~Super bright LED reverse lights
          ~Oil pan
~Timing belt, water pump, accessory belts
~Red46 Skid plate (it's freaking beautiful, it's not just armor, it's a work of art.)

I've also got another little project going on. I had to run out to the parents to get some tools, and I snuck out to my dads wood shop and got some work done on a project I've been wanting to do for a while.

Purple Heart and Oak. I plan on wiping them down with Linseed oil so the rich color is brought out. Then Lacquer them so they are protected from the sun and elements. Purple Heart also has a tendency to darken if not protected from O2 and heat. As I ripped the Purple Heart you can see where I paused, and the blade burned the wood dark.

Trying to decide how I want to arrange them. I think I'm going to actually mount them under the bars with spacers between the slats and the cross bars, so I can actually get some basket action going.

I'm also tempted to get some longer oak pieces to replace the metal load bars. Oak is plenty strong to support whatever I want to put up there. I don't like how the black plastic load bars look with wood and hardware. I'd rather have wood and recess the hardware.

              Thanks mate.

Got my oil pan off tonight, man is it dirty under there. The gasket has been leaking about 10 years I'm sure.

              Smashed it pretty good.

About 5 pounds of build up on the tranny skid. About 20-25mm thick.

Old pan came out without too much trouble. Took an hour from in the air, to pan out. There was some broken off gasket sucked up against the oil pump screen.

Got the gasket scrapped off the block, and razor bladed smooth and degreased. I went to put the pan I got this week on, and noticed the threads were a little buggered. I moved the oil plug over and noticed that the new pan I have has been re-tapped (poorly) to some new magic size

So now I'm at an impasse, if the threads weren't so poorly tapped I would just go get a new bolt. But, I'm worried that in a year I'm going to fuck the threads up during an oil change and have to go through all this again.

Suggestion: go buy a suitable tap at your local hardware store (~$10 unless you already have a tap and die set), tap a new thread in there, buy the appropriate short bolt, install, drive happy.

However, sometimes all a threaded hole needs is a good cleaning. Aluminum gums up easily but can be straightened out. If you're weary, find out what the current fucked up thread is and run a tap through to clean things up.

                Either way, good luck!

That's a good idea. I didn't think of that. I'll take it over to my machine shop friend who would tap it for me right for a fifteen dollar bill, or tell me it shouldn't be done.

Good snag on the hounds interior stuff. That purple heart looks great too.

Thanks mate, It's a work in progress. I like the contrast of the light oak with the dark purple heart.

Fixed. And it only cost me 1/2 of what I paid for the pan

Machinist tapped out the pan, made an aluminum plug, tapped the plug out to the stock oil plug size, and welded it in.

Can't wait to get it in.

I've been thinking about about going with style 5's. I think that I want the weave look.

                            The pan is in!!!!

Don't know what that yellow/green is. Wasn't there when the image was taken.

Well, I'm waiting on motor mounts, I ended up ripping one apart moving the motor with the jack.

In the mean time I've got some little stuff to get taken care of. Tonight I got a new alternator belt put in. The power steering had been squealing like a pig, turns out the teeth on the adjuster are stripped, so I'll be getting a new one before installing that belt.

                              Got the HIDS in.

Last night I got a little done. Couldn't do much because I had to work OT.

Got my new motor mounts in.

Drained the rack, the fluid was nasty. Pretty much black. Replaced with new fluid.

Lastly got the skid plate on.

I need a new ground strap.
