Women need attention, no news to that I'm just happy she doesn't mind the money spending on it

Finished building in the engine. Still need to do the fluids and then start her up.

I was accompanied by a Maserati V6 and Alfa Romeo Giulia.

Haha women! My wife is the same way of course.

Well when you get a chance, keep building. You obviously know what you're doing. I'm the same way about liking cars most aren't into, I just don't have the time to build them all.

It still runs on the stock exhaust. I want to go for full stainless with spaghetti manifold. Then I will post a sound clip

Been busy the whole saturday. Head is on, distribution is on, etc etc.

And then I ran out of time. My girl started to complain 'bout lack of attention last couple of weeks. Still have to do: axle's, stabilisor, hooking up the wiring (plug and play) hoses, radiator, intake, exhaust, fluids.
Hoping to complete it all the next couple of days without upsetting my girl.

Yes everyone calls me crazy, but it just think it's cool to drive a car only 8 are left in this country in which mine is one-of-a-kind. I don't like driving a 12 in a dozen car.
Oh wow, you've really gone through with a proper engine build! How about the intake manifold and TB, were those ported as well to support the higher airflow?

I love the sound of low displacement properly modified 4 cylinders, when it's done you have to post an exhaust clip!

We need more people that are as passionate about these things as you are around here!

I love that people like you are around on the forums to show us these uncommon platforms. I hope it inspires more people to want to build and save these cars.

Tuesday started to build things up again. Received the wrong mainbearings. Mounted the rods and pistons anyway.

Yesterday I received the right mainbearing, together with the conrodbearings and thrustbearrings:

    Mounted the crankshaft and everything:

Oilpump, sealhousing and oil sump in it's place!

Disassembled the cylinderhead, cleaned it and cleaned it once more. Need to assemble it again. This saturday I want to finish building the engine and mounting it back in the car.

I'm not going for extremes in horsepower, the car weighs 750kg and allready has wheelspin in 2nd gear. I'm shooting for 120bph and I will leave it there....

Measured the crankshaft and had it polished:

Measured the conrods and cleaned them up, before and after:

Mounted new pistonrings on the new pistons and mounted them with new piston pins on the conrods

Meanwhile, I'm disassembling the cylinderhead of the MK1 because of a leaking headgasket.
My uncle had one of this, I never think in my life they look this cool!

Good luck for your project, that engine is a bit of underdog
