Columbus is a beautiful city. That is where I went to college and love that area. I live like 5 miles north of the center of downtown Indianapolis.
I'm vaguely familiar with it (been there once or twice for work), but it is definitely a nice city. Show me the ropes around Indianapolis ! I don't know anyone out there haha.

    This thread is awesome.

I owned a Mk3 myself in 2007 / 2008, it was my first car. Ever since I made the switch to BMWs I've never really looked back. I think this is the first time in recent year's I've actually wanted a Mk3 again. Mainly because you've built in a style that perfectly matches my own, haha.

    Great work, man Carry on!

Thanks guys! Im just happy to be able to drive her again.
Hopefully next week I can get to painting the mirror caps and hatch trim. That has been on the list for a long time but with everything going on I had no time to do it.

Well Wednesday was a little bummer.
I went to work like normal, worked and then went south of the city to go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned, ate pizza and headed home. Well that does not sound a bad time. but pulling in your drive way shutting your car off and then coming back to move it and it would not start at all is...

The stater has been acting up lately but it finally gave up the second I got home. On the bright side at least it died at home.

I pulled the starter and tested it to make sure and it was for sure dead. I called up Jamie and we spent a few hours shooting idea back and forth since you really can't just buy a ABU starter in the states. He found a shop in Indianapolis that rebuilds Bosch starters. I gave them a call Thursday morning and talked to the guy that does the rebuilds and he found the drawing he needed to find what parts he needed to rebuild the starter. I had my buddy come pick up the starter from me at work and take it to the shop so they could get started on. I then spent Thursday and Friday carless and just waited to hear back from the shop.

I woke up this morning and cleaned the house wait for the girlfriend to get done working at one store so I could take her to the another store so I could drive her mini for the day and not just be stuck at home. On my way to drop her off I called the shop and they had the starter finished. So I rushed over to the shop after I dropped Jess off so I could pick up it up before the shop closed.

Stan's Auto Electric did an amazing job on the starter. One of the magnets in the starter broke off and was jamming everything up. They went ahead and did a full rebuild with all bosch parts. $162 later I was on way home and threw the starter in. I had to jump the battery since it sat disconnected for a few days but it started right up. I then drove around all day just so happy to have my car back on the road and to have that stress off my shoulders.

Here are so pictures of the car in the garage. I have a ton of ideas for the garage but have to wait until we get everything moved in and set up before I can start on any projects.

Hopefully going home and rerouting that right side air line so it is similar to the other side and out of the way as long as the rain holds off.
