Meh, I did it because it sounded fun and gave me a little project to do. I love little details.

Yep they are Oem Corrado steelies so currently 15x6. Once winter has gone and the RS's are back on I'm going to have them sent out to get them widened to 15x8 and 15x9. Always wanted a widend set.

    Ok some small updates.

Went to PA over this past weekend to spend some time with Matty, thanks to the girl friend & Matty for setting it all up for a christmas gift.
We worked on the surf, helped with moving at the new OE warehouse and just had a good time.

I picked up a few things from the junkyard for the Van. All for $3.

I then stayed home from work Yesterday because I felt terrible the evening before and in the morning. After a doctor visit and a few naps I felt better so I took on working on my cluster. I swap the white needles in the 1.6 VDO cluster for a set of orange US Needles. I htought this would be a easy, just swap the needles and be done.

    Good joke.

The VDO cluster uses smaller pins for the motor for the tack and speedo and D-shaped post for the temp and fuel. The US needles all use a mid size post for all 4 motors. So i had to shape all the needle bases for all the pin which took a long time to do with out damaging them or the bases. I ended up have to repair the gas and temp needles as some of the paint chipped. Luckily Jess had some orange paint that match prefectly in the basement. It turned out great and love the look of it.

That is all for now. I should be ordering a bunch of parts for the Van in the next week just debating what I all want.
    Later!

Well with some time off working finally I thought I would give the car some love.
I have had the controller for the V2 set up in the front part of center console which was nice for seeing it but was terrible for using it since it would move a ton when you would try to use it with one hand. I was looking through Instagram and saw how Jamie made the cup holder in the Lupo hold the controller and hide away in the the dash when you don't want to use it which seemed amazing to me because I **** seeing wiring or the controller itself. So I woke and figured I would take a shot at hiding the controller in the coin holder tray in the mk3. This was not as easy as I thought. It took a lot of trimming and cutting on the tray and the plastic cage. I had to cut out the lock and back wall of the coin holder to make the controller laying in the flat area and clear the cage. As far as the cage I had cut the lock that hangs from the top of the area where you slide the tray and then had trim the back section and a small part of the floor section to allow the cable for the controller to pass through and back freely when pulling the tray out to use it. It is not fully finished and want to do more work to make have a more finished look. As for now the left back wall as when rebuilt to hold the controller and put a piece of foam on the right side of the controller to keep it all nice and steady. Sorry I did not take any pictures during the progress but here is a finished picture of right now.

I then changed the oil/ filter, check the front struts to make sure there was no rubbing or anything of that nature & just really checked over the car to make sure there was no issues. Everything checked out. Hopefully on my trip to Philly to see Matty I hope to come home with some new parts for the car.

See everyone later, have a Happy Holiday.

Some slow progress. I have a few people looking for OEM single camber golf codes for me in the UK and few other parts.
I also got bored and figured I would give myself a small project to work on for the RS's. The Hex caps were the poem finish, so machine topes and then painted sides. They looked ok but some of the clear was pealing in small area's so I figured I would polish them myself. It was a pretty simple process. I took them apart then took them with me to work and then sanded them 60, 180 & 320 rolls on a high speed hand grinder to remove the paint and machine marks and smooth them out. I then took them to a buddies house who had a high speed polisher with a few compounds. After a few hours out work we had a mirror finish. I have two done and two to finish polishing. when I go back I'm going to repolish the one that are done and take more time on the unfinished ones. Here is some pictures of the work.

Well with winter seeming to come a bit quicker this year I figured it was time to get a winter set up together and get the RS's off the road before any salt hit the roads.
I got the RS's off the car and moved them into their new home in the basement. I deep cleaned them inside and out to get all the dirty off them, have to love having a utility sink in the basement made the job go a lot quicker.

I Picked up a set of 15" Corrado steals with some 205/50's on them to ride on through winter. I really like the look honestly. May have to look into getting them widened or find a widened set.

The height so I can go through automatic car washes so the undercarriage of the car can be cleaned off to get all the salt off it.

    Great work, man Carry on!
Thanks man! I love how both of the touring are coming along as well!
I love the MK3 to death and the people in the mk3 community so I don't see the mk3 leaving my hands unless something terrible happens to it but when things smooth out and I pay off a loan and credit card I'm going to look at getting in a E36 M as a daily. Always wanted one but money and timing never lined up.
