A/C units on 2002's are worth big bucks. If you don't planning on using keep it and sell. The best place to find information pertaining to the 2002 is the 2002faq

Made a lot of progress in the past few days, dropped both the subframes and the engine along with the front. Car is a complete shell at this point. I think I'm going to have the shell sandblasted to save some of the headache of getting the rust in the hard to reach places.

Dropped quite nicely right out the bottom

The AC was disconnected when I bought the car - not sure if this is worth anything or not but I removed the rest of it.

        Before

        After

        Patching up some rust issues

And some wide fenders are in the house!

Don't have the hood or trunk sandblasted, my dad had a hood done for his 69 and the metal is too thin for it and will get wavy on you, you won't notice till you are doing body work then you will be cussing it lol.

Thanks for the heads up! I probably wouldn't have thought of that. Think the doors and the rest of the body would be ok to be blasted though?

First off another Ohhtwo on the boards is awesome! The brother duo working and posting here is hilarious; it adds character to this build thread. You've got a good amount of done so far, can't wait to see where this goes!

Haven't decided for sure but there is a newer (and a bit flashier) BMW paint code that is really tempting me...

Didn't think about the doors, I actually moved one around today and its lighter than both a hood and trunk when its stripped down so I'd probably not do that. Why not just use aircraft stripper and block it out by hand? That way you can control what happens, sandblasting has always made me nervous except with like wheels and mechanical parts.

Its been a while, nothing has changed.
Made a pallet out of wood.

Put the car on top of it
