Are the mr2 struts a direct fit? I have an RA29 and I'm looking for suspension parts to upgrade and get it a bit lower.

Yes they are a direct fit.

But to get low with them and do the sleeve coilover ki you will need to measure down it's approximately 40mm ....remove gland nut (remove threaded part of tube but keep it) cut and weld on threaded section. Then weld in new spring perch. And all set.

P.s I was told you can go crazy low by useing mk1 vw rabbit inserts

No problem sir. I wish I took video of my buddy doing the build. I may have him re do mine with the rabbit inserts. And if we do ill record it so people can have a video to reference to see exactly how to do it.

              Kind of an update!

So cruising down the freeway on my way home from a fantastic meet called The old school reunion. I was in the car pool lane and I heard a loud roar. I looked over my shoulder as it sounded like a open header motor cycle or something coming up behind me. At that moment I felt a slight rumble at my foot. And BOOM!! engine went.

Fastforward a week to. I finally got the engine removed from the car. We stripped it down to nothing and were able to remove the bad piston and what was left of the rod lol. When we removed the head we were able to see that the piston head made contact with a valve. And bent it. I showed it to a Toyota builder. He said the head looks salvageable and will be fine.

For now im going to be doing the 20/22r Hybrid motor. Pry stock bottom end and some slight building of the head with a valve job and some porting.

Heres some pics of the damage. lolz

              LOL THE DAT BLOCK DOE

This boy was TOAST. Nothing left of the rod. All that was left in the oilpan was smallllll fragments of metal shavings.

Very mild update. Picked up another celica gt 77 Liftback. Mainly for the motor parted out the rest of the car less than a week and the entire car is gone (well besides the shell) Just waiting for the clean title to come in the mail and wammo gone.

Cant wait to get the new to me engine in the car and get it back on the road.

Installed a knock off bride seat pretty sketchy like oh well. and a real old school sparco harness.

Hell yeah! The new engine will be badass for sure!

Have you thought about upping the compression be shaving the head a bit? That way you will get more HP, more torque, and better gas mileage
You just have to watch out for knock though

Haha I love seeing previously owned cars on craigslist lol. My brothers Civic Hatchback has been on and off craigslist like 4-5 times in the past year or so. And each and every poster had different details about the car.
