      • 45 minutes in and I ran into problems, this is why I decided to buy in stages! So i'll try to explain what this is about, and Sam you should really chime in (please).

        So to begin:
        First:
        When I was making my tallys, I used the old diagram and since I was driving I didn't have it in front of me. I'm two T's short. One is in the center manifold which I circled and the other being in between the electric valve and the flow controls. So I need to pick those up.

        Second:
        I'm unsure about screwing the middle manifold into the tank. It has the 1/4 on the bottom, so I'll just use a hex nipple to go from the T to the bottom of the tank correct? (This is more of piece of mind and to ensure I didn't forget something).

        Third:
        I have the pressure switch (I had some trouble figuring out what it was) but forgot the safety valve. Ordering!

        Fourth:
        I forgot to buy water traps.


        Circled the problem areas.

        Current layout on my table to have a general idea. I haven't tightened anything down as I'm still waiting for the goop.

            I'm on the side of the road, so this'll be short for now.

            1. Hardware store tees are fine if you need 'em fast.
            2. Hex nipple into the tank, yes.
            3. You should have a pressure sensor, not a switch, yes? Make sure to get a 200psi safety valve.

              1) I'm not in a huge rush, just going to get the basics done this weekend for the install.
              2) Sounds good
              3) Pressure sensor is correct. Picking up the safety valve on the next purchase.

              • Tank so excited it's about to pee itself. Had a rough start to today, snapped 3 fittings, hemanned another so tight the hex nipple went into the female and broke it, and had placed the wrong size order for the hexcaps, or BR site was wrong. I'll figure it out later.

                I got my compressors wired, and functional. That was probably the biggest relief was hearing the compressors turn on. I had to unplug them though since I have nothing to control them just yet and my tank has 4 open ports.

                  You snapping tees? I find those are pretty easy to crack. I like the big machined ones that Bag Riders advertises on their website, but I don't know if that's what they're shipping out.

                  I'll tell ya', the tank and compressors look good in there!

                    Snapped 2 bagridees tees, and a 1/4 to 3/8 PTC. So my shortage of tees is now -4.

                    The fitment is awesome, I had to pull my deadener mat out to clean but it'll find its way back underneath all that eventually.

                    I've also decided to just go ridiculous on this, and I'm going to run the 3 gauges rather than working with the tablet and do a custom center console with them integrated, a holder for the remote, and light up cup holders, ya dig?. My center console has always been a pet peave of mine and it's time to change that.

                    • You do more damage to the fittings by over tightening them, it won't fix any possible leaks. If anything, you'll break the fittings like you found out already or you'll rip threads out of the tank or valves. They only need to be finger tight plus a half a turn with thread sealant on them.

                          I've never worked with fittings before, and it seemed weird that there was still so much threading left so I cranked them down. I'll test the ones I have cranked down for leaks and keep this in mind for the next set of fittings.

                          I was definitely hesitant about the pancake, I think it came out great though. Eventually I'll figure out a way to dress everything up but for right now I'd rather just have functional air!

                          Also, is there a way to clean up the fittings from the sealant? It looks like I bathed my fittings in it.

                          Also, Also: I see the VU4 manifold comes in PTC and NPT. Is there a bonus of going NPT over PTC? I'll just have to adapt to PTC anyways for the lines, so PTC will just avoid excess fittings correct?

                          • Went ahead and purchased a few things to keep me busy the next few days. Bought all the fittings I broke, forgot to buy, and extras in case more break (but I know now I was over tightening them).

                            Also picked up my triple gauges, and a friend of mine is stepping up to the plate to fabricate me a custom center console to house the gauges, the accuair remote, lightup cupholders, and who knows what else we'll throw at it before the end.

                            I was still about $150 off of free shipping, so why not get it? I went ahead and ordered my coilover threaded brackets since I wasn't sure if they were made to order, and didn't want to wait later on for them to be made and shipped out.

                            Also, I found out that my wheels won't fit with the bags.... Time to find a new set of wheels at the same time. I don't think flipping the barrels/lips would be practical for all 4 wheels.

                              Which sealant are you using?

                              For your application, the PTC VU4 is what you want. The NPT one is for people who run compression fittings.

                                I'm using the Rectorseal that you recommended. There's just excess all over the place.

                                And thank you. I'll make sure I pick up the PTC.

                                I may have to hold off a week while I figure out this wheel delima.
