Ive spent the last 2 days trying to figure out how this shit works :P
Just bought a used gt3582r ballbearing turbo.
at first I thought it might be a bit on the big side, but after some calculations it seems to be about perfect.
did some numbers on a gt30, as you can see it would hit 1 bar at just under 2500rpm.
at the limither 7000rpm id get around 420hp - drivetrain loss = 357whp! so thats would actually hit my goal of 350whp.
1.5bar@ just over 2500rpm and it would stall out before hiting my 7k limiter :P so its a bit on the small side
now on to the one I actually bought.
hits 1 bar at just over 2500rpm, but 450hp at 7000rpm :O minus 15% drivetrain loss = 382.5.
On to the fun stuff!!
hits 1.5bar at 3500rpm, so a bit laggy, but it produces 275hp!
now at the 7k limit it produces around 550hp = 467.5! now thats pretty good I think.
whats nice about this turbo is that the high rpm stuff is on the efficient range, 70%+
which keeps temperatures down which keeps the knock away and thats good.
Im looking into water\meth injection because you wont be able to get e85 in here in Norway soon :/
but with that I might be able to push it to 2 bar. = 650hp or 552.5whp! and it hopefully wont knock
so revising my whp goals again, goal still is 350whp, stretch goal\ show of dyno numbers 500whp!
Im getting this boost thing now, its actually pretty cool
I might be way of though

Turbo has arrived
also found out that there are three different gt3582r''s and I have the first one, so I did a new map.
still playing around with how to draw it up.

this one has a more curved surge line, but I might get a ported compressor housing later on if I get problems with lag. Looks like Ill be good up to around 1.4 barLast edited by Tim Holm; 01-28-2016, 09:49 PM.
