they are like hood spacers. they can let more air into the bay/ provide clearance if needed.

this thing is awesome man! i love the decal on the side

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

He's right CubbyChowder, The deck lid standoffs are like a scoop, catching cool air coming over the car. Good for air cooled engines. Especially when you're getting into more power, & dual carbs, etc, the factory vents become insufficient.

Also here are some features that aren't posted yet. Awhile back, the holes in the doors were filled in to accommodate '55 Vw 'ice pick' handles. If you have an old Vw, this was a great upgrade, & I wish I had done it sooner. The doors open with 1 finger.

Another is the bag mounts have been redone. The car is never low enough.

Thanks. I also picked up a set of sealed axle bearings. When the bug is low, the wheels are neg cambered & the oil doesn't travel upwards to the axle bearings. Get these sealed bearings & there's nothing to worry about.

My brother bought me a bus nose cone so a 2" trans mount was made, to start the 2" transmission raise.

Floor was cut out over the trans & lifted 2". The floor was cut in half, & the rear half was welded, & seam sealed. The front half opening was framed & left as an access panel to the bags, valves, starter, & anything I need to get to under there.

All oil leaks fixed on the engine & trans. Engine went back in, new holly fuel psi regulator added. Air filters are too tall now, so a shorter pair was installed & wrapped with this sheet metal I had laying around. It has tons of small holes in it like a screen. Came out good looking.

Now it lays the pans, doesn't leak any oil, & runs like a champ. Shorter shocks had to be used, so it lost some lift, but that will be fixed with new upper mounts & the original shocks again.
