Got these done.. now I need to find longer springs or helpers.. haven't decided which yet



the fuel pump relay/external pump took a poo on my on my way to the beach...



now for more important things...
After considering the amount of work I've done/money I've spent to get the 8v running... and also how clean the fox is.. I can't bring my self to cut her up to swap in the 1.8tqm.. just doesn't seem right
So I've decided to go an entirely different route... OBD-1 ABA w/ R1 carbs and a 5 speed swap

small update...

got new springs, got it all put back together.. and my dumbass forgot about the tierods.. they are too long even when fully adjusted.. shortened the tie rod end.. not enough.. so now I'm fighting to get the inner tie rods out so I can shorten those.. which is unfortunate.. because now my awesome turning radius won't be quite as awesome... in retrospect i should have shortened the arms on the strut housings in conjunction with rotating them in order to preserve more of the original geometry....

it's a learning process.. and I won't make the same mistake if I ever have to build another set of coils overs

Got the suspensions finished up. Traded the gold mesh wheels for a set of Ronal Turbos.
New exhaust.

The Turbos are 15x7 et27 4x108 with 25mm adapters and 165/45 federal rubbers











Gotta delete this guy so I can go lower.. It's currently about 1.5" off the ground

put smaller adapters up front, did some rolling, some lowering.. still need to ditch the cat





This is on a flat shop floor, the cat is sitting on the ground in the pictures above





also thew on a brigade sticker to go with the current 80s surfwagen theme

just drive it around for awhile at that height, you can let the pavement take care of your cat issue.
