i saw a local LS for sale. $1500. needs the same maintenance as mine did. PS leak tracked down and fixed (90% sure my drain plug and PS idle valve delete will fix that) and it needs a full timing belt service with seals and stuff done

Ill call the guy and see if hes willing to haggle. i refuse to pay more then 1000. fuck outta here. thats like 12-13 hours worth of work with hand tools in the driveway. MAYBE 6 hrs in a shop with air tools.

Sheit, with all that garbage already off to do the timing, might as well do the starter too. That thing is a PITA

gotta yank the whole intake manifold to do the starter. shits impossible to do otherwise unless you wanna drop the transmission.

I heard of one guy who was just able to disconnect the driveshaft and reach it from behind... but still a monster job

dont see how that would help because the starter is at the top rear of the engine. transmission is literally in the fucking way. dropping driveshaft will do nothing. the only other (sane) way is to remove the intake manifold.

then again if its a drift slut and you're all in for some FUUUUCKEEETT, remove the plastic shifter BS and cut the trans tunnel . then you got a little access window and you can do it all from inside the car hahaha

But I think a little window cut in the tunnel from the interior would be the best thing haha. Have like a little door you take off and boom, the starter is right there!
