Why dapack are my pictures sideways. I'll fix that in a bit.
Hey guys, thank you for taking your time to read this build/showcase.
I own a 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST. I've had it for about 6 years. All throughout high school, and before that my brother owned it. He passed it on to me when he blew the motor. He was boosting too much on a big 16g without supporting mods, and ended up throwing a rod through the block.
Unfortunately, I do not have much pictures of it when it was mainly stock during the first half of my high school career.
All of my lunch money went towards rebuilding this car. (lol, no joke. I'd have $15 for lunch a week and used about $3 or so each week, for all four years of high school). There was also a program at school where I could leave early to go to work. So I'd only have three periods a day for my Junior and Senior year instead of the usual six.
Having no bills to pay and working a tonnnnn of hours went a long way.
I'm a sophomore in a University now, so I don't have much free time or nearly as much funds as I used to. I couldn't have built this car alone though, my two older brothers pitched in a significant amount as well when I needed it.

I'm sure I'm missing a couple of things, but that should be the main things.
Oh and please excuse the iPhone pictures.
I'll get to taking pictures with a real camera soon!
So without any more ranting, here is my garage built Eclipse!

The stock engine bay, ugly and crammed. This was the first thing of many changed.

Got an OBX manifold, a coil plate, and maft sensor. Cleaned it up a bit.
(I learned soon enough not to buy budget things such as the OBX manifold, it cracked various times and had to get re-welded.)

Cleaned it up even further and did a wire tuck/ battery relocation.

This was her when she was my daily during high school, with an ebay intercooler and piping. It held up surprisingly well.

Lol. My friend and I had a "Photoshoot" at the high schools' parking lot during lunch.

At this point in time, I started thinking cosmetically. I didn't like how sunk my stock wheels were, so I bought spacers for the rear.

Then my brother surprised me with a 60-1 turbo when he bought his Holset hx35.

Originally, I was saving all my money to buy these beauties. Status Racing buckets.
But the inevitable happened. Being a teenager in high school and having a "fast car" kinda gets to your head. I was boosting without major mods like my eldest brother had in the past.

This ended up pitting two piston heads too. So it was now officially time for a build. Good bye Status Racing bucket seats.
So using that money I had saved up for the seats, I bought parts for the engine one by one slowly.
Before that though, we had to pull the engine of course.

All disassembled.

I figured while we were waiting on parts to come, why not shave the engine bay as well? It was ugly and had too much things going on in my opinion.

Look at all that mess.

Shaved bolt holes, and painted with primer.
This is how she was sitting for a good 8 or so months.
Parts began piling up soon after, so it was time to start building the engine.

New vs Old

And than Punishment Racing sent me a picture of my manifold. It got me HYPED.

And then it arrived. I mocked it together!

The time had come to drop it in.
Shortly after we dropped it in, my brother surprised me yet again by buying me a set of Hoosier QTP's.

My engine bay in its full glory.

And than I decided to get a real BOV, and upgraded to an Hx40 pro.
I was using my brothers hx35 before.

This was the ebay exhaust that we had for its whole life under our ownership.
Decided we needed something bigger and better.
I found a good deal on just a thermal muffler, so I had to weld up my own 3in exhaust.

This is StanceWorks after all though. This is how she sat. I drove her on slicks for a month or so.

Keep in mind I still was interested on my stance, and I instantly fell in love with rudeboi & CHLTRTL eclipse.
And being low on money due to college now, those XXR's were an amazing choice of wheels being they were relatively cheep.

Test fitting.

Got them mounted on 225/40/18

And this is how shes currently sitting!

And that's it for now!
I still have a lot I want to do. Carbon Hatch, carbon hood, aerocatch hood pins, quick release bumper. Brembo brakes. Different set of wheels. Etc.
Well thanks for looking!
I'll make sure to keep this updated.
