No <3 from stanceworks? Feel like I'm talking to myself in this thread lol.

Got a chance to run to the body shop today. Snapped a few pictures, I was told the bodywork should be finished the week after Christmas. Everything looks great so far!

No updates from the body shop.

BUT I finally got a hold of Jeff at United Motorsport about turbo size and fueling, so that's all set. Going to go with 870cc's and a PTE5858. Apparently that's good for 450whp with the 2.1L stroker. I can live with that. LOL.

Dropped some stuff off at the powdercoater today. I have a video of the color swatch posted on my Instagram, but here's a picture of it for now. The reflectivity in the metallic is absolutely bananas. The base coat isn't going to be black, but more of a pewter/titanium color.

Then for ****s and giggles I bolted up the CTS manifold, IE manifold and fuel rail on my old motor cuz I was bored. Hopefully I'll have a turbo to bolt to the EM shortly

Decided to inquire Jeff Atwoods advice at United about what turbo I should run. Hopefully I'll hear back from him soon!

Been a little busy lately, not with the MK4, but with my D2 A8. The blower motor decided to take a poop on me just as the temps are dropping to the negative side of the thermometer. Had to get that replaced and did a coolant flush too. Previous owner used ****ty prestone that was only good to -10*. Also got some new wheels with snows on. Looks pretty bitchin if you ask me.

Anyhoo, the car made it out to the body shop today. Only took one picture after I was loaded up, but I'll be stopping down there early next week to drop off my core support, motor mounts, and a couple other things I forgot at the shop. Feels good to get her out of the shop finally. It will feel even better when she's home! I'll be cleaning the motor up, and playing around with some color schemes that I have in mind for all the boost piping, intake manifold, and valve cover while the car's at the body shop. All I'll say for now is bass boat

Haven't updated this thread for a bit, but I started with some filler and decided that I'm going to leave that up to the pros.. Gonna send it off to the same shop that resprayed the car last year on Monday.

Integrated engineering took more of my money tonight.. Oh joy. Billet fuel rail and some other goodies.

Basically the whole chassis side of the harness is complete aside from routing it through the frame rail, which we actually did but pulled it back through so the shop has more access to the area. I still need to button things up %100 in the rain tray, but that won't take long. Everything is routed where it should and it only took 3 days of working on it.. Record time? Mayhaps?

Same kid who's helping me with all the wiring will be taking my engine harness and bringing it back to me all wrapped in tech flex. That should be nice.

Tonight I pulled the air suspension to put my old coilovers back in so I don't have to rig up the lines to hold air without being able to turn the system on. I'm also pulling the whole false floor out to re-do it while the car is at the shop. I also cleaned up the subframe and steering rack. The control arms, and the subframe are starting to rust in spots, so when the car comes back that all will be yanked so I can clean the rust up and powdercoat or paint it.

    Sry no pics tonight.

I need to start getting serious about what turbo I'm going to run. I was thinking GTX3076, but I'm being told the block will need to be girdled.. Fvck that. So now I'm thinking a gt28 will be the ticket? What's y'all's opinion on the matter? The motor made near 400whp on a turbo smaller than a GT28 last season (2.1 stroker, UM tune) I believe it was a 67mm turbo. Unsure exactly.

Got this beautiful piece in the mail today from Matt @ Haggard Fab.. Just curious to how it mounts? It seems pretty loose just sitting on there. Maybe ill have to get new bushings?

    Haggard is the man!!!

Thank you sir! Never thought I was going to take this car as far as I am!

    Anyhoo..

Well, after having a go at some of the filler work I've decided to leave it to the professionals. I just don't trust my work enough to believe it won't crack, or fcuk up over time. The car will be going to the same shop that resprayed the car last year. It's called Autoworks, and they're more of an insurance shop, but they're small and independent and have done MANY VW's in the past. They actually just finished a buddy's car, and had about 300 hours of work alone in the engine bay. His car is going to set the bar in the MK5 game. It's bananas.

Anyhoo, that won't be for a couple weeks so I'm trying my best to finish the harness work with some help from a buddy who ironically hates MK4's, but has done about 4 harness tucks in them lol, and get the motor in to at least mock it up and get everything set so it's basically plug and play once the car gets back from the shop.

Got the harness unwrapped and a few of the unnecessary wires chopped out. I then welded up the rain tray where the waterfall used to pass through on both sides, then hole-sawed a couple 2" holes in the tray for the harness.

And the current state of the harness.. Yikes.

This seems never ending.. Spent another 8 hours tonight welding, grinding, and welding some more. I am almost done though! Only a few more holes to fill, and then it's on to filler.. I'm definitely not looking forward to that..

    Few shots from tonight's progress:

Boxed the passenger side motor mount in.. Pretty satisfied with this as its really my first time making templates and welding them in..

Got this side as smooth as I can, not looking forward to using body filler here as its VERY tight area to work with..

So here's where I'm at so far.. Feels good man.
