I forgot about my biggest find, too! I decided to blast the fenders with some primer and as I was sanding, I found numbers. I now believe that this car was either a junkyard car or an impound car, who knows. OH well

Please do not do the FJ cruiser electric blue. A nice dark greenish or mustard/green like you posted would be amazing.

Nah, I think I'm leaning towards the mustard/hint of green like I posted. That, with some over fenders and some deep wheels, make some white accents would be great.

            More like acid... Battery acid
            I couldn't help myself I'm sorry.

Also I just found a craigslist add for two plastic racing bucket seats, from Summit Racing. 75 for a pair. Mismatched covers, but I can just get matching ones later for 30 bucks.

            Here they are:

Crappy quality on the last one sorry

Well guys, I think this is kind of the end of the road here. I jumped in way too far over my head and keep getting screwed over the more and more I dig into it. I'll probably still keep it because it's worth maybe 100 bucks and I've probably spent 9 times that, if not 1000 and there's no way I can get back in this condition.

              What happened:
Rust is to the point where I'd need to bring a professional it order for it to get done,.
I keep getting screwed over on brakes, from being over charged to getting falsly advertised parts.
Electrical just keeps getting worse and worse.
and last, I just don't have any time.

Yeah, sorry for bitchin' but I'm just done for a while. I need to get my Eagle scout done and maybe then I'll have time. I'll leave with this pic

I just don't have any time.

-Scrap metal, angle grinder, patience, paint, and a welder is all that's really needed to fix rust

-Why didn't you rebuild them yourself? Plus, you could have gone to a wrecking yard(or ebay) and picked up some RX7 calipers or ae86 brakes on the cheap(Plenty of writeups on how to do brake swaps on RA/TA celicas)

-Radio shack. Get a multimeter and some colored wire and get working!

                  -boy scout/eagle scout thing>celica

Sorry to sound a bit rough, but it seems like you were super optimistic and then you just seemed to give up. I suggest that you sell it. It will just become another car that will rot away in your parents backyard until it either becomes a pile of rust or it becomes some other kids nightmare.

Hopefully you will change your mind and keep spending some spare time working on it though

Oh no, it's fine. It will come along eventually. But to answer your answers:
Welding-That's probably the route I'm going. Don't want to pay someone 350 for a job I can most likely do myself, with a mig and gas.

Brakes-That's what I wanted to do. Being "controlled" by your parents is another. I actually rebuilt the old caliper with the new parts and it's all good now. My parents just don't trust me for whatever reason.

Electrical- One day. Electrical work is just what happens to stump me and pisses me off. Easier said than done.

Eagle Scout- I only have a couple months left until I turn 18, and I need it done before then. Yeah, I'm a nerd, but it looks great on College/job apps.

In short, it will get done. Eventually. It will not turn into a pile of rust nor will I give in and sell it. I WILL BRING THIS CAR TO HELL AND BACK BEFORE I GIVE IN.

Well I hope this eventually gets some real action, glw other stuff though, being a teen and having a project car is a recipe for parental intervention and annoyance, stick it out if you can!

                          YESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, maybe I should have been an eagle scout. Being a volunteer firefighter or doing hundreds of hours for the American Cancer society doesn't mean shit where I live... It's because I'm white though

I like how someone wants to buy it after you posted this hahaha.

Thanks, you'll be the first that I'll offer it to if I ever sell it.

Well thanks, maybe this weekend I'll try and bleed the brakes and take it around the block

Well that escalated quickly. If you were where I live you would be considered a saint and would probably be showered in marijuana(local inside joke, because we are known only for drugs and someone is now opening a pot gummy bear "factory").

Don't give in man. I'm at a financial shot storm at this point in my life. 26. And my parents freak out on me still if I drop a couple bux at my car. Maaaaiiinly because I got fucked on the house I bought then lost it and forced me back to their house til I figure I out an get an appt again.

I know the struggle! Keep at this car man. If I was closer I'd be there every day I could helping on it!

No shame in living at home.

When people ask, I just say it's a cultural thing. Since I'm japanese and white(I look super white though, and colleges/trade schools think I'm joking) the cultural excuse works. Bringing girls home is a nightmare though.

Any progress on the celica? I would love to be showered in weed.
