Thanks. Im not sure what brand mine is. All I know is it leaks like crazy. lol. It rained the other day, and I went to the bank and set my wallet on the counter. When I picked it back up, it left a wet mark. That chick probably thinks I have the sweatiest ass ever.

They're about an hour's drive away though.Originally posted by Isuzupickup View PostGrab the centerlines! I had a set and loved em. Got mine for 80 myself. Sold em for 100. Shhhh. Im a body man by trade, but metalworking is my passion and I rarely get the oppurtunity to do it in my line of work. Ive practiced quite a but over the years, and I try to learn to do everything with hand tools, mostly because I cant afford the fancy shaping equipment Im still learning, but not afraid to try to make anything. .
Hopefully there will be much much more to come on this build. Im planning on making the roll pan, the tailgate skin, a completely custom aluminum grille and headlight bezels, bringing the stock fender bulges out wider, and maybe some bumpers.
heres a few things Ive made in the past
these were for a bobber project that i still have.
fender

seatpan

tank side

and this is some of what i did building floorpans for a 38 Oldsmobile in echange for my 4 link.
corner peices,

this picture is shit, but this is it welded in. im gonna put door skins on that car too, so Ill snap a better pic next time im out there.. they really turned out nice

I **** painting more than anything but I do like to play around with it too occasionally

Damn dude, that is some serious skill. Not many people can make there own patch panels like that anymore.

got the bumper off today so I could address the rust. I swaer to me, it loosk like the truck is sitting 6 inches higher without it.

ugh... Gotta fab panels for the corner peice and the bottom of the bed side. the bed side patch is easy. its just flat with a simple bend, so I decided to start with the corner peice.

the patch is cut slightly oversized. what I will actually use. this is after roughing the shape in. stretching with a ball peen, and shrinking the edges with the tuck tool I made.

After a little bit of hand planishing

I still need to round out this side some more so a bit more beating to strech it out.

using the tuck tool to try to pull this corner in

oming along pretty good.

Quick sand to show where I need more planishing

after a bit more tweaking and planishing.

thats all I could get done before dinner. Will take it too work tomorrow. I need to curl the bottom under a bt more but then I should be able to hopefully finish smoothing, trim it and tack it in.

Found a set of 15x10 centerlines on Cragislist for $100. tempting,.. but Im kinda set on some racing steelies.
Its a shame these kinda parts are so hard to track down. this front clip would look pretty mean on the truck

well got an actual camera working, but dont have a usb cord for it, and I guess it is pretty much obsolete. lol oh well.
im calling the glass shop monday to see what my options are as far as getting a peice for the roof. I think Im stuck having to use acrylic because Ive read that polycarbonate has a high risk of bubbling when heated. The acrylic should be ok, I know how easily it scratches though. But if anything I should be able to buzz it with a fine grit sandpaper and clear coat it for some extra protection. It would be cool to candy it but I would imagine it would fade out in a matter of months.

Also I got a guy coming to pick up my old bobber project this week. That money, plus my overtime, means Im definatly getting wheels.
Also, my dog likes rust...

well. this weekend hasn't gone as planned so far. We had a pretty harsh deadline on a job at work so i ended up putting in 10 hours at the shop today. I planned on tinkering with the truck all day, but the extra hours mean wheels are coming soon
. I did play around in the garage for a little bit though. started playing around with the new mirror design. Im gonna try to mockup something out of poster board or something tomorrow . I need feedback on them, cant decide if they are cool or not. lol. I also went to measure the frame to see if the new fuel tank would fit between the rails (and it does), and saw that behind my shitty rusty bumper, is a sort of roll pan with license plate mount and a light. who knew? lol . bumper is coming off monday and Ill get cracking on patch panels and such

After thinking about it all night and talking to a buddy about the feasibility of pulling it off, I think it's safe to say it's firmly part of the plan nowOriginally posted by milano_red View PostPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE

I stalked your thread for quite a while before I joined. It was another big inspiration for doing my build. And the one that made me question whether I should bag it or not. Your truck looks sick static.Originally posted by Isuzupickup View PostYes! Another Isuzu haha. I like your intentions so far. Very interested to see yourbuild unfold. Also, check out my pretty extensive build thread. I have relocated the fuel tank amongst other things.
