you've taken a lot of great pics so far and I'd follow this thread just for the pics if i wasn't also an Amazon owner.

however, when i shoot cars on location i spend hours and hours either shooting my car as the stand in model or the actual car just to make sure i get the perfect shot. The more time you spend in a location the more comfortable and familiar you get with it. Shots and angles become more apparent the longer you are there.

Keep up the great work and I like the new shot.
Next time im out i'll spend some more time. It all kind of depends on the location. Ive found some spots where I felt comfortable hanging out and some where I was definitely trespassing haha

oh psh....i trespass all the time for pics. never gotten in trouble just got asked to leave or they let me finish. as long as you're not causing trouble, most people don't mind. One guy actually gave me the keys to his gate and told me to lock up when i left....lol.

btw, the amazon i was going to buy was sold out from under me so i'm now in the market for another but not having a ton of luck. really depressed and pissed he sold it

                • Still trying to figure out what I want to do with the trunk setup. Its not glaringly obvious to me. The other reason is that its all working now (with no leaks) and I know it will be out of commission for a little while once I start. So here is what im working with. Im also going to add a 10" sub in a small sealed enclosure and decent size amp. Would like to hide as much of the wiring and hoses as possible.

Any ideas? Post up some pics too if you have seen something that could work for what im doing

                  • like the new pics man.
got some ideas on how you can spice up your images...details

One of my favorite lenses is my 105mm 2.8 (my macro lens). I'll go to car shows and only use that lens. it gives me the opportunity to photograph the car in a way that shows off things that most people miss at first glance.
Auto designers spent a lot of time thinking about the lines and trim and details when designing the car, especially on classic cars (when style was more important than fitting as many computers as you can inside a car). I feel it is important to show those details off to the world, especially when you have a car as rare and beautiful as yours.
So get as close as your focus will allow with the lenses you own and see what ya come up with.

as for the trunk setup....every thought of attempting to do at home fiberglass and/or metal work? i am thinking of making some custom parts for my new ride, and if i fail, at least i learned some new skills.

                    just my two cents

That is absolutely stunning, but I wonder if you have tried one thing that annoyed me during my build.. Your all black car with all the trim work looks awesome, and I know this is a oem design feature of the car, but the trim work around the quarter glasses really never made any sense on these cars and interrupts the image flow.. The door frame has no trim work at all, and with the stainless drip rail, it really makes the quarter glass trim conflict with the door frame section. Have you considered blacking it out? You could tape it of temporarily with some black electrical tape, and then stand off in the distance to view and take pics, just to see if it looks better overall?

Not trying to knock anything at all, because your car is a fine example of an Amazon, but that makes it stick out even more.. LOL

                      • On my setup I thought of making a panel to cover the install and have 1/3 or the tank coming through...its still not done. I would look at some neat setups for inspiration then find tweak it around with the space you have. To make wood fit use cardboard templates and give a little slack around the edges of were boards meet. Have a look at my thread, I posted some pics of the templates and wooden floor being trimed. The only limit is your imagination really when it comes to what materials to use etc

                        • Hey,

Can I just say what a build! I can find inspiration for my own 122 (1969) in every picture!
I have a question about your wheels the 17'' steel. I want to put 17'' Dodge Caliber wheels on my car. The wheels are 6,5J and have ET of 39.

My thought is to move the centre to an ET of about 25 and put maybe 195 tyres on them. But I can't find anyone who has experience with this in The Netherlands, so that's why I wanted to ask here!

                          Hope you can help!

                          KR,

                          Thomas

I definitely want to pick up another lens. The detail shots are great too, especially when thinking about an entire shoot. I doubt ill get crazy enough and go fiberglass, but I will most likely make a steel rack for the air components. Just trying to figure out the details.

Ive checked out your thread before. Amazing build! I definitely want to get creative as well. I would love to do a hidden panel type of thing and have everything but the tank fully submerged.
