Aaaaaaaaaaand.........

      BOOM

      Got my car back!
Longest 12 days of my whole life. Worth it? Yes.

Lighter flywheel. New lightweight clutch. Feels peppy! And no more exhaust leaks to boot!

Hawt damn, now the fun can begin.

Whats the best feeling you have ever felt?

The best for me, ordering car parts.
        And having excess money.
        Not a lot.
But real honest to god not-going-to-bills money.

Maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to soon update this thread with something worth while.

Feels soooooooooo good to have her back

So, I am know working to address this problem. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

The PO bought shitty "carbon fiber" bits and they are showing their age not so gracefully.
Thinking that I'll sand the shitpiss out of hood with and trunk with some 1000/1400 and have someone shoot it with clear.
        Think that'll do?

        Noticed this:

Hoping the handle is the only bit that was once red.

Removed the ghetto rigged chicken wire.

Started fixing a drunken mistake. Finally decided I don't want to paint the reps.

Sanded primed and painted the hella covers.

Went MENTAL with copper paint, GUNK, wire brush, tooth brushes etc etc. Cleaned it up. Tucked a few things. Wasted some time in other words.

Welcome back to mediocre mod time!

          Back for more simple shit!

First, my Uncle Brian came by in his mini machine. Its his DD and weekend US129 monster. Low and fast as f***.

And these things happened. Damn hood broke on the interstate and went FAPFAPFAPPING around.

          This..

          Cheap shit.

Then I finally found some of this! For a good price!

To repair this broken bastard. Dont mind the horrible kludge of a repair

I built a cover for my pod filter. Was sucking in stupid hot air and the car was letting me know.

BROKE THE F***ING BANK WITH THIS THING. But, got a bit better gas mileage.

Changed my century old coolant. EXCITING SHIT.

Took the exhaust off. Loved the sound! For a minute. Then put that shit back on!

Got irritated by my shit ass headlights. Ordered new ones. Black things with halo-ish things and projectoryish things. In the meantime I threw some of these bright ass halogen lights.

Next the old wheels are getting new rubber, toss on the adapters, SELL MY SOUL TO SATAN FOR COILOVERS and so on.

          Till next time.

Its been a long time since Ive updated this bastard.
            Stuff happened.
Things broke and things were fixed.
I made happy faces, scrapy noises, backfires, messes, problems, induced **** and ruined a set of tires in 500 miles.
            Lessons learned.

Started buy buying Budgetland's after my rear shock exploded.
They serve their purpose and are good and stiff atleast!

            [IMG][/IMG]

            Installed them and learned lessons.
#1. A degree of toe an 5 degrees camber will F*** your tires.
#2. Get an alignment immediately lol

Car is lower but will go a might bit lower when i sort out the axle-hitting-the-frame-problems.

sorted out some wiring problems and moved my driver side loom

Nearly finished my buddy's KA rebuild.

Finally got everything dialed where I want it, for now atleast.

It got cold and a friend knitted me a shifter beanie.

Got a new camerapichuretakindevicething and snapped a picture after rescuing some friends from their house during the last snow. This thing just goes in this weather. I was passing trucks stopped on steep hills, driving untouched roads and defying ice.
So happy I gots the AWD

             photo edit_zps5355d363.jpg

            Then bad.
            I got laid off.
            Boo.

            Atleast its tax time right?

            Further plans are simple.
            Intense service of the engine
            Retune to aim towards 250+
            downpipe (ehaust leak lol)
            Respray hood, skirts, trunk
grind pinch welds a tad to stop axles from banging frame on intense bumps
            front lip
            drink beer

I used to work in a garage that specialised in scoobys, judging by my time there I don't think you have bad luck I think all subarus are cursed ! they have the most ridiculous and expensive issues on a weekly basis!!!

Alot has happened since the last time updated the most depressing build thread on Stanceworks.

I blew the old motor up. And I mean, spectacularly. Grew up some. Stopped doing lame shit. Did some lame shit. Stopped caring about the car. Started really caring about the car. Quit again and so on.

                So, I bough this.
The Japanese market ej205, higher compression, can be wired for avcs and so on.

I then set about swapping all the mofucking parts (that weren't broken) from the old motor and ended up with a pile of garbage.

Btw, If any subaru folk are ever going to do this swap, you need youre old fuel rails, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, crank sprocket with usdm sensor, intake cam sprocket with sensor and turbo coolant inlet. The jdm one is too short and rubs the top mount.

                Mostly put back together

Getting the damn thing to line up

                 photo IMG_20140712_114802_zpszqhsj6ic.jpg

                Minor rejoicing!

It ran rough at first. Had a few new engine woes. And TONS of exhaust leaks.
I got sick of the shitty stock downpipe and the leaks and rattles and son on and did what any broke 20 something would do. Bought a dirt cheap, catless downpipe for lulfacterz

And with that, it actually ran pretty smoothly. Well, now that the o2 was getting exhaust gases passing by it.

Now that its sorted its back to doing dumb shit to the exterior. I have always wanted a nicely painted, well running car but ill never afford both.

I repainted my shit reps and spent a lot of time cleaning up over spray.

Painted the carbon hood with blue digi camo designs which I later sanded off and recleared the hood.

Got preoccupied with fixing my buddies civic after an accident which turned out pretty good. Ill post afters when i find them.

At this point Im just working on fixing small stuff and some maintenance for the poor old subie. Leaning towards a simple vinyl wrap, karlton flares, wider tires, raised an inch or so and leaving it be for a while. Now that I have a good job anyways!
