    tested compression 0, 0, 0, 148, 148

    looks like i need to swap anther motor. looking into a 1.8t swap.

    fired up, but have a dead injector on cylinder 2. its funky style too. fuel return is built into the top of the injectors and is fragile. all of them are broken...but it does run. might need to upgrade to some bosch's with injector adapters....

    battery crapped out soon as i went to start it. ha

    coils are not on just yet, want to see it run drive before i did that. also had a few offers to buy it sight unseen...(could then finish the v8 coupe) so not sure what my plans are.kinda just going with the flow of things

    Did you swap the coils over yet? Does it crank/turn over?

    spent some time in the garage today.

    034 engine mounts
    034 front snub mount
    034 silicon coolant hoses
    034 silicon breather hoses
    new reman starter
    new reman alternator
    new reman crank dampener
    new crank timing gear
    new timing belt, water pump, bearing
    fresh synthetic 10-30, new filter

    no work today....so ill work today

    been lazy...also every chance to pickup the engine fell through. so i rented a truck and did what i had to do.

    also snagged an early coupe "bag-o-snakes" header

    plans are to swap in a stock motor and swap the v8cq coilovers onto this one so i can just go out an cruise it.

    the locals are trying to get me to 1.8t this....

    i want to keep an inline five...but i am open to ideas

    163hp stock - I have a 170k mi unopened long block that hasn't run in 2-3yrs

    180hp stock - i would love to use a new vw 2.5 20v i5 motor, but it was it mounting challenges plus new harness/ecu....

    170-190hp? stock - if i use an older eurovan 2,5 10v block..its like 8:1 with a 20v head and thus would need to get decked a bit to bring up the compression.

    150hp stock - i have a 2001 a4 1.8t bottom end that needs honed and pistons replaced. i have a large port aeb head that was given to me yesterday that was on my old jetta(like 4-5 cars ago)...but would need a a4/passat engine harness...have a stock ecu from my old a4


    big boost can/will be obtained on all setups above
