Ahhhhhhh..... a people's car and a rat rod special all in one. Keep on going with it. A bunch of my buddies will be interested in this, they are all part of the local V-dub club. Love the chop and channel.

It's a shame in here we are not allowed to take the fenders of. This build got me inspired.

You should build one. It is a real good time, and if you don't do huge rear tires or a tunnel raise you can build one pretty quickly. here are also a few different ways to do the roof chops depending on how low you wan the roof to be. Some of them are simple enough to pull off in a couple hours.
Don't try to talk me into it or anything lol

I can provide encouragement and guidance. And chastising if you muck it up.

I am so looking forward to seeing a car like this cruising around Richmond. Hope you bring it to Cars and Coffee one day and show a lot of those guys what it really means to work on a car with your own hands.

                      Super mediocre update:

Picked up hardware to finish mounting the seats and lap belts today. Other than that, I have some customer cars and motorcycles to work on before I can get back on this thing.

CX500 Deluxe, correct? I used to have a CX500 Deluxe - my first bike.

I believe so. I haven't even looked at it much more than I know its a cx500. It doesn't crank or run at the moment. So I'll be going through it in a couple minutes and see if I can't make magic happen on the customers super small budget.

Any updates on the VW? I'm still on the lookout. Checked out a 68 last Sunday.

Got rear tires finally, and pushed it out of the garage. I need to raise the rear up a notch (about 2.5"), the floor pans scraped coming out of the garage, and its not a very steep grade at all....

Front tires and all the brake lines and fuel lines, along with a new throw out bearing should be on the way next week. After I get some customer cars out of the way I will hopefully be able to get the motor going in the next two weeks and take it for a spin around the block.

Also will be making a small push bar for the front end that will also double as a headlight mount, that'll get the headlights down low and out front where they should be.
