I just spent a half hour posting a new thread full of photos, only to have the forum log me out, and lose my reply.... so, I don't feel like doing that over again tonight.SENZA PARI

Back to the 260... The weld-in camber plates and rear strut tower plates are finished. Next step is having the threaded sleeves turned out, and then the coilovers can be put in.

I've removed both front rear bumpers, and the rear window louvers (good god those are ugly). Wheels are now black as well, as it pains me to look at the car rolling on anything but.

While waiting for the wheels and suspensions parts its on onto other parts of the body. I cleaned up and sanded one of the end pieces of the IMSA spoiler. I found a paint color which I though might match the body pretty well, so given my lack of patience for some things I just had to try it out...

I have to say it turned out better than I expected...

I'll finish the cleaning and sanding the rest of the spoiler, and mount it fairly soon. Next up is going through the engine bay and sorting out some of the unnecessary items, and tidying up the triple webers... possibly giving them a new look.
Stay tuned.......SENZA PARI

I had a few beers one night (Isn't that how all good things start?), and figured I'd take a peak and see how the rear wheels might sit in the fender wells. I did this earlier with the 240 (photos on the previous page) but left the suspension in, so you really don't get much of the effect. It just looks like a monster truck with huge wheels and tires. So, I removed the spring, bolted on the adapter and wheel, and lowered the car down until the fender just touched the top of the tire. Being 25.7" in diameter overall the'yre 1.4" taller than the Yoko's currently on the car (probably closer to 2" in their un-aired state), but removing the spring allowed the rear end to sit almost 2" lower in the rear... not nearly where it will end up being, but a much better representation than the moster truck look.

As the rear tires (and fronts for that matter at 24.7") are as tall as they are, I needed to be able to drop the car as much as possible to achieve the look I'm after. Most of the threaded sleeve options out there are too tall, and I'd be stuck with my ass up in the air. This is how I like my women... not my cars;-)
The solution was designing a short threaded sleeve that would allow me to go as low as need be. A full 7.25" of drop is possible with these.

Onto the engine bay....
The Webers as I received them. Neat little units, but a little on the dated side. 30 plus years of gas guzzling will have that effect.

0.006" glass beads, 80 psi, and 15 minutes later these bad boys look new. I've been debating as to whether or not I should black them out as well, leaving only the brass fittings and screws as accents... but as good as they look, I may just leave them as is. We'll see...

And because rust, corrosion, or anything other than matte black or torched-blued stainless is ugly as sin, I've replaced all of the hardware with stainless pieces.

The next update will include the new 3" stacks for the Webers, and more on the rear spoiler... and possibly cutting and welding of the strut tower plates:-)SENZA PARI
