So this past week Ive been a little lazy. I finished off the tunnel, fully welded it up and put it in etch primer. I wont go into great detail, ill let the pics do the talking.

The tab at the back of the opening ill be trimmed down once the box is back in. Next is to sel it with seam sealer, then ill paint it with enamel. Once thats done Ill start on the bay, I might do a mid week update depending on how much gets done. I still need to get some pics up of the new wheels for the front, and progress has been made with the engine. The power steering pump has been relocated so the opening in the bonnet will be smaller and only the rocker cover will poke through.

Another reason not much progress has been made is due to Toli's brother Tom and his wife having their first child. Family is more important then cars

I find it funny that there arent a whole lot of people getting involved in this thread yet if I posted a pic of the wheels and guards mocked up erryone would be like "zomg mad tyte fitmunt yo!"

Anyways... I started on the front tubs.

As you can see the passenger side had a bit of damage from a previous owner...

Cut out. The rad support will be removed eventually, but before I did I had to mahe the right hand side tub up with the clearance for the turbo's compressor housing.

And thats as far as I got with it. Ill get to the same point on the other side during the week, then with any luck next sat I can remove the rad support and make the skirts up. The radiatoe is here, just waiting on the cooler and then we can start doing the removable tube rad support.

And for good measure, we went to take photos of a friends car, so I snapped this of toli's RX7 with wheels thanks to Kriss.

I'm watching this build here and on k20. Just drooling at the craftsmanship. Bad ass work bud.

you'll be waiting for a while haha. Im aiming to have the metal work all done within the next 3 weeks. Not going to do too much filler work in the bay since it will go through a lot of stress and after all it is a race car. I think once the bay is painted and the engine is built it will go back in before we prep and paint the rest of the car...

You can help when you come down in a few weeks

jk, we have notching to do.

                        Havent made much progress lately...

Now to make the inner skitrs. The factory ones I cut out as you will see in the following pic arent straight, its a bit of a pain in the ass to fold and bend sheet to make them suit the factory piece with my limited tools.

To make it easier I made up a tube section which I will also use to reinforce the mount for the removable radiator support.

Lots of grinding to make it silky smooth

Then to start making the rad support mount...

And since toli's rear bar add-on came in, he wanted to mock it all up. Close to how it will sit, only instead of my 17" M7's, he'll run his 16" M7's. Pics for the stance kids lol.

I was trying yo convince Toli to let me give the car an intense flame job, but he is extremely far from convinced.
