    • Got back from a long road run where we were testing files that Tom made.

Various ones to both test the new Throttle body at various load numbers, and also make it work as it should with the huge plenum of the new intake manifold, which is like 4 times larger than the oem one.

That is not so easy to do with just a lamda sensor to help you, but hey, Tom managed to do it.

Many thanks of course, but mostly many props to him for that.

Some pics of the hood after the pulls. It was polished and cleaned before, but look at what does the fire out of the dump tube do . . . . hehe . . . loving it

          • And now for something that most people in here will love - a lot. Some detailing love for the car, once again.

Some teaser photos of a complete detailing session the lucky Audi had

And then out got the cameras . . .

All the work was carried by DAZZLE Show Car Promotions Ltd. which is owned by two very close friends of mine. A special thanks to Andy Kyrgios.

Full articles to follow - I hope Andy will make one sooner or later. Wont you now, Andy ::: : : :

            Cheers. :thumb::driver:

            • Decided it was time to move my ass and install the Apikol Rear Diff Mount which was sitting in my boxes for quite some time now . . .

              So . . . Up went the car . . .

And down I went, having to remove this . . .

              Removed . . .

              Here it is . . .

              And now the shiny parts..

              Installed !

And while I was there, some maintenance to make it look fresh . . .

              Before . . .

              After . . .

              Impressions :

The difference is very obvious even in moving in traffic, and just when the car starts to move, and while changing gears. In hard pulls and quick shifting the difference is even more obvious. A nice feeling of the car being more stiff and not cluttering when changing gear, or when starting from still.
Much quicker to move its once you hit wot after a quick gear change.

All in all a very nice product.

              Cheers.

                • Here is a small set of the pics from them wheels going in, thought I'd share

Wheels when they arrived at the shop

Nuts sandblasted, back to raw metal - I will see how this goes over time

                  Started mounting tires

Weights painted so as to not stand out when on the wheel

Then before mounting them on the car, I had to do something special to them . . . seal them properly . . .

Here they are in line, ready

Bye bye temporary wheels, thank you very much

Wheels were on with an addition by me as always

And getting it out on the road . . .

                  There we have it . . .

                  I so effin love it

                  • So, then, we heard of a drag event that was to take place near Athens.

I myself had never been in a drag race, not even as a spectator. However Tom convinced me to give it a shot, and he would come too with his car , even though not ready at that time.

                    Prepared the car . . .

So we did some testing with Tom, two nights before the race, road pulls to fine tune it, car was pulling great. I mean really nice. However and since I am not into street racing, I dont launch the car that well, mostly choking it, because of me being kind to it and not revving it to death before letting of the clutch - you see this is my daily as well, and I dont want to take the geabox destroyed in my hands.
I did a couple of starts the night before the race, not at all happy with how I did, but, I guess I could always try at the race, we had 3 runs per day.

The race was not an official championship race, however ALL big garage shops were there, both to show their cars, and for glory issues among them. 200cars participated, and I entered the 11sec category - mostly evos, gtrs, imprezas, 4wd audis and some hard core fwd hondas, peugeots and citroens there.

I was really anxious and stressed since this was my first ever attempt. I decided to always leave the opponent leave the line first and then go for time by myself with no stress- after all the time was to count, not who won the strip.

The bad thing was that the pits were in mud, dust and tires - let alone cars, were dirty. Not bad for me - but mostly for fwd cars.

So I set for my first run - bad start as expected - then 1st - 2nd - and when started to boost 3rd I see a metal pipe in my rear view mirror, losing boost seemed like a clamp had gone off, leaving me N/a - then I found out I had no brake power on the servo - pretty dangerous at the speed I had by then.

Here is the video of the run against a Rwd conversion opel astra turbo

                    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K99cCECcLm0"]Drag Battle - 06-07 / 10 - Day 1 - YouTube[/ame]

The funny thing is, that I managed to have an exit speed of 175km/h (109mph) with more than half of the 3rd gear in N/a function. (15.051 if anyone cares for that matter)

And here is the pic of what happened on my Intake Manifold - the result of a pretty POOR welding it seems -

so frustrated my weekend was destroyed - not a lot of shops at the place the race was held at, decided to let go of the first day and maybe do something on second day . What is more i didnt want to ruin it for the others, so sat and helped others on their efforts - just duct taped it so as to have vacuum and for the car to work properly to go to the hotel.

So day two, and I had this idea of putting a whole duct tape and give it a go - i managed to pull two times a2nd gear this way - so I said why not what do I have to lose
So I tried it - but it only held on 1st gear on the race

here is the video of it

Unfortunately I had a damage on my CF hood as well from the cap going upwards

But nothing a doctor cant fix

Photo of cap that couldnt stay on the IM

                    Racing License

Sunday crowd - part of them

                    Dusty pits

And finally -this to sum it up

I Loved it, and will try to attend the next drag event , both to have fun once again , and what is more see this car's capabilities on the line.

                      • So today I sat to wire the boost gauge to have it seen at night, old school-a red led since two of them wouldnt fit inside - I think I pulled it off, here are some pics

And the AVCR at night -a pic from the custom pod made in the past.

I then went for a ride to see how it is at night - temperature is now low here - car felt very strong

                        Cheers
