More tools, more cutting and trimming ahead

Installed the gearbox to chassis mount to see how it holds with the welding done

Yes it holds much, much better, but still not to our expectations

Plans are to further reinforce it, probably with another plate to close it on the lower part, we shall see

Moving on to the front end, we disassembled everything pretty much

And Thanos started taking measurements to machine some plates to replicate these, which would work as spacers

Thing is, that I decided to test fit the bumper as it was, with the lower bar/ic pipe removed, and to be honest everything worked perfectly, especially given the fact that i
secure my bumpers with the quick release system by Thanos again

So we decided to not replicate them, and just remove them
Look at all that space- I love it

Another thing we plan on making from scratch, is this Toyota gearbox mount. We plan on machining it out of solid aluminum and replacing bolts with studs and nuts

We can also use longer studs to play with the final gearbox height, depending on differential and center axle placement, and apply custom fabricated spacers where needed

More cutting will be applied here as shown in my excellent design to allow for manifold fabrication, both intake and exhaust

As well as here

Other Oem parts were installed to see how much space was left free
Like the oem filter

And starter

Removed the 034 solid front subframe rear lower mounts

50:50, LoL

Good as new

Plan is to replicate them in steel, but somewhat extended at the lower part, so as to make a bracing for the front subframe, like a strut bar but at the bottom of the car.
So, plenty of more to come hopefully and lots of things to do

Cheers

More cutting was performed
Passenger side

Driver side

This air-saw is pretty serious with some good blades installed

Also trimmed these

Sourced this from my center console but sadly someone lost my dash metal support frame, and now i cannot seem to find one - any help on that guys ?

Then I started working on my front quattro axles

I will throw everything but the things i need for the front wheels
Ugly grime

Removed

Done

Removed and cleaned, because why not

Will clean them and they are ready to be re-installed with new front wheel bearings

Cheers more to come

Went ahead and started cleaning them, for good

I'd say supplies were adequate

Came up really good

Went a bit further, and bought some nice garage equipment, air tools mostly
die grinder

Air Wrench Gun

Quality is amazing

And look at the size of it

1100NM, and hopefully I will put it to good use really soon
Cheers

So my friend Thanos, got to fabricating the new modified subframe mounts. The plan was to replicate the 034 mounts, but in steel, and make them bigger to be able to weld the chassis bar on them, like a strut brace.
So...

Original one

Steel part to being with

This will enter the subframe

Side by side

All done

Now need to find a bar.
And then move to fabricating a modified trasmission mount from scratch.

Thank you very much, really appreciate it. Likewise, your builds are interesting to say the least.Originally posted by white out View PostI love this build.
Well, sadly i havent had time to spend on this car, mostly due to work at the clinic, and new MSc stuff etc etc. But I must make time, I know.Originally posted by JasonSA View PostUpdaaaaaaates.
If anyone has a good tip on Viper rear diff, let me know

So managed to put some time into the car.
Sadly the dashboard support got lost somewhere, and i had to source another one. It was not cheap at all in the dealership, and every single i found in the greek jankyards was either thrown away with the chassis, or bent from crashes.
Luckily ebay is our friend, and found this in germany, hoping it would be ok

Received the big box

Parts seemed like new to be honest

This is how i had left it, was curious to see if it would go in with the cage in place

had a hard time with these two studs, but it went in

Then I noticed this part on my original center console support was like this, i dont really remember why to be honest

Removed it

German overengineering at its best

installed the one that was included in my order

Dont even know if we are gonna use this, or go custom center console, since radio and ac are off the car either way

Center "feet" installed too

these were not used, so if anyone wants them let me know

these too

Does anyone where this bracket goes ?

I know it is for the storage tray support, but dont recall where. Must find my ELSA files otherwise

Even installed this vent

I might give the dashboard a try to see how it sits

Left it like this for now

Cheers guys

I don't know any Greek swearing words, but I can imagine that a lot of them will be heard from your workshop when you put the dash back into place... (aiming at the cage)

Hello guys. Been some days that i was ready to update my build threads of all the cars, when I logged in to my threads, and saw all my pics gone missing. I thought i had gone overboard with bandwidth, but then I also remembered, that i have a premium account, so that doesnt happen. Long story short, I figured out what PhotoBucket had done.
So, currently, more than 8-9 years of build threads are useless. All that work and effort is lost.
And what is more, Photobucket gave us NO warning, nor did they send their thoughts on this change whatsoever.
I accept paying for using one's services. I dont accept being bullied into doing it, in such a non-professional way.
I cant tell right now how I will continue blogging my build threads, but i wil definitely WONT be paying photobucket not 400, but not even a single cent.
Cheers
