Started moving my garage to the garage where the Audi is located more or less

Did some more work today ..... eeeeeeer more like talking and measuring I guess

Gearbox height is being finalized more or less

So plans are that we begin on the transmission mount

This is the OEM one from Audi

Pieces of puzzle and let the games begin

While we are working on this, I am also trying to source a rear Supra diff - YET AGAIN - because I sold the one I got before, the one from Titan Motorsports. Oh well.

Till that happens we can work on gearbox mount, as well as fabricating a new front end for bumper, headlights, radiators, etc. , and also I can start installing the roll cage maybe.

So, more to come, stay tuned guys

    Cheers

    Mike

So, I had some goodies delivered from my friend's machine shop, the wood spacers transfered in metal.

    Modified my initial billet spacers

Installed to see how it looks

    And it looks good

    Passenger side

    Clearence from the back

So engine mounts are pretty much complete for now I guess- we will know for sure when we tighten everything up

Also checked how transmission is sitting -pretty much where we want it to sit

Also from inside the car, things are looking good

no passenger was there to agree with me

Also, on a quick test fit, the filter location seems to clear our spacer which is a bonus

    More to come

    Cheers

So, back in the days, I had purchased some new STERN engine mounts for the 1.8T on the A4 chassis

Let's put them to good use then

Remember this. Yes, it still exists.

These, also unused parts, will come in handy

Hasnt seen some fuel for quite some time

A great boot for shopping groceries

Actually so good, that you can actually see from above when you are lifting the car

Let's lift the front end as well, so that it wont complain much

    Up up up and away

    A not so lowered A4/RS4

    Dat wheel fitment doe

Let's lift the engine one bit

Thing is I didnt have the 1.8T engine on the car, so I decided I'd settle with what was inside at that time

    Will require some spacers then

    Passenger side

    Driver Side

Clearence from the back- me likey

Clearence from the front- me gonna build new front end

    Cheers more to come

Got me an AEB intake manifold from Germany

    excuse the cell phone pics

    Big Port Official test-passed

It was awesome how good this was, look how it cleaned after just a wipe-down with some apc and a microfiber cloth

Not how these usually are after all these years

Pile of dirty used parts is getting bigger

Merry Christmas to all of you

    Cheers

    Sourced a head

Didnt look to clean to begin with

But it said it had low mileage on it compared to others on egay

    Removing dirty bolts

And then them cams and lifters

It even had some spark plugs on it

Pile of parts is getting bigger

Will check the cylinder head on the machine shop and see if it will be used

    Cheers

    More to come

So, time to catch up the latest news in the blue Audi story, for those of you following the build either here, in other forums, or on instagram ( @mgpdoc )

The car has been transformed, as you know to RS4 OEM widebody, since September of 2013. It has been almost 2,5 years now, that the car has been sitting in the garage, waiting for me, Tom, to put some work on installing the 2JZ on it, along with many other goodies, both supra related and not, that I have bought for it.

Increase in Everyday work, side projects, like my Golf mkv that went from daily, to Tfsi, to GTx3076, or like my new AUD1ESEL that also got attention, as well as hesitation in fabrication work, resulted in this being postponed month after month, with little progress to show.

My golf is now almost ready, both in terms of interior custom alcantara trim work, as well as engine work, with the GTx3076 pushing on the forged Tfsi, a good 35psi. All that it needs is a 4wd system from S3 / TT-RS / Tiguan, something that will happen sometime soon I guess

My A1 Diesel, is also on a good path, and heading towards the direction I want it to, with a good look on the exterior, and a custom interior on the works, along with other touches, making it a great daily, but also a nice car to travel with

That said, Tom had an idea. He thought why not give the 1.8T another shot on something different before we installed the 2JZ.
Why not push it somewhat more, and see if it can touch 4-digit-figures, and still be able to be driven from point A to B.
I kinda dig the idea to be honest, and lost no time. Decisions were made, and Tom started making lists of things needed.

Sad part is, that I sold my cylinder head, and most ironic is, i had it almost 2 years listed on ebay, and it got sold, about a week before we decided building the 1.8T again. Oh well. I guess we will have to build one again. For those of you wondering, I still have the 2JZ in my garage.

Some shots of the blue Audi build then.

    Hello little engine.

Sitting there, for quite some time, thinking it was forgotten. No, sadly for it, wasnt.

Oil Pan removed feeling sorry for itself

    Removing more stuff

We were also curious to see the condition of crank, and internals after all this mileage, boost, etc

    No drama here

They will all go for sale

    Continuing with the disassembly

    Crank was out

Insert beer and greek souvlaki where necessary

Crank will be kept, propably will be staying 1.8T and not 2.0T

    Looking good

    Called it a night

Then, started ordering more parts, after the ones I showed you in the previous update

    New engine block crank plate

    New dip stick assembly

I also ordered a cylinder head from Germany, which I will inspect prior to using, and some more parts as well.

    Stay tuned.

    Cheers

    Mike
