    So . . . let's have a proper update, shall we . . .

First of all I managed to source a nice tool for my needs . . . 4700cc can come in handy some times

And with the help of Mopar . . .

    This happened

Travelled about 500km (310miles) away from its base

Such a love for petrol this engine . . .

Finally arrived at Dazzle Detailing center, where I would remove everything from the car, for it to go to the bodyshop

Bongo was more than happy to welcome us

Meanwhile, back in my hometown, the trim shop was doing work . . . Here are some pics I took while I was at it

Cant wait to see the finished product
It is coming awesome so far me thinks

Back to Dazzle, where I lost no time

Car arriving at the bodyshop where I removed the last of the parts to be painted

I also installed emergency spares at the back for easier work

    LoL

    Cheers, more to come guys

So let me show you what happens, if you ask for the trim shop to take it easily, so that the cage, and rest of the interior are ready and done, when the car gets back from the bodyshop.

What happens, is that you wake up one morning, and you decide to remove these

Notice some numbers. I will tell you later why these are here

Headliner then went, you guessed correctly to the trim shop

And then, I chose a material to play with. The owner of the shop, told me to go for this one

which, would make a great OEM black finish, keep the cost to a very logical level, and give the headliner the finish it deserves. He advised me against going for alcantara once again, due to the high cost.

However . . . I thought that it would be a shame not to.

So yes, material on the right, it is, once again

And here is, what the numbers were for

yeap, the roof will be cut, to the point where the A pillars stop, because from there and backwards there is no interior, just the cage. So bye bye more weight.

needless to say, the oem fabric will be removed, and then, alcantara will go on.

    Hello cage

    how are you doing here

I also got all the roof clips, in soul black, from the Rs4

Would you believe it if I told you, that these here in the pic go for almost 45usd ? WTF

    Aaaaaaaanyway . . .

I also got this box from Plastics4Performance with an extra kit for cleaning the Windows, and some cool stickers of them

In other news, the CTEK is doing its job nicely

While I also refurbed a 5th Ultraleggera I had, in Gloss black, and dressed it in a Toyo 245.40.18 just to be there as a spare for both cars, since they are running the same bolt pattern after all

Hope you liked it, more to come, as we might be in for some great surprises.

    Cheers

    Mike

Everything you say is true. However given this will be not so much of an everyday car, but more of a fun track car, i dont mind it

I have some news from the trim shop, the alcantara is here, after a long wait

    Yummy

Can be used in all ways, depending on what finish and feeling we want to give each part

And then, I played with some colours

    Me likey

    In other news . . .

Given the fact that the Audi's battery is not in use during the weeks I am doing all the work, I needed to do something about it, so as to not buy a new battery when I drive the car again. Some friends of mine, that own a collection of some old cars, advised me to look for a specific company, CTEK.
I went for the best model for car use, and for the range of Ah I have in my cars.
Thus, I purchased this one,the MXS 5.0. I am amazed by how everything is extremely detailed and from their product quality.

The MXS 5.0 is a charger that offers state of the art technology that was previously only found in CTEK’s professional product range. The charger can solve a broad range of battery-related problems and is the perfect charger for those with high demands. The MXS 5.0 offers features such as battery diagnosis that shows if a battery can receive and retain a charge, a special reconditioning function that restores stratified and deeply discharged batteries, unique maintenance charging, a mode for optimised charging during cold winter days and the charging of demanding AGM batteries (i.e. Optima). The unique display allows the user to follow the entire charging process.

The MXS 5.0 is a fully automatic 8-step charger that delivers selectable 0.8A or 5A to 12V batteries from 1,2-110Ah and is suitable for maintenance charging up to 160Ah. The charger is IP 65 classified (splash and dust proof), designed to protect vehicle electronics and non-sparking, reverse polarity protected and short-circuit proof. It is delivered with a 5-year warranty.
