Today was one of those project days. Just enough small annoyances to slow you down and stretch a four hour project into eight.
I sorted out the management first thing this morning. The snag here was the top-of-the-line water trap I bought. The outlet side was tapped a bit larger than 3/8 NPT. Just enough of a difference to cause a tiny air leak. I can't get it to seal up, no matter now much thread tape or which fittings I use.
Here's how the management ended up.

The next problem was, once again, the air line. The air line that came in the kit from Gauge Mag. is a complete nightmare to work with. It just does not flex. I am researching some more flexible line, and will likely redo the entire gauge and switch setup in my center console. No matter what I do, I can't get my gauges or switches to stay in place. The damn air line keeps popping them out.

Once that was all finished up, I finally got to the fun stuff. A comparison of the stock spring to the new bag and bracket assembly.

The passenger side wheel had a seized lug, which I ended up having to drill out to remove. When I was bolting in the lower Forjworks perch, the weld on the threaded stud gave out.

Fortunately, the lower spring perch on this thing is the size and shape of a cereal bowl, and floating brackets should do just fine.

Line plugged in, 30 lb test fill. I also sprayed down most of the rear undercarriage with rust proof under coating.

Put the wheels on, filled to 40 lbs., and checked for leaks.

The only leaks are at the water trap, and at the right-rear switch. I'll remedy those tomorrow if I have the time.
          Test drive.

Overall, I'd say today was a success.

Hey thanks man. I don't think they do, but maybe you can find some NOS parts?

In addition to the hatch trim, I need rear speaker covers, dash clock or the clock delete plate, left side exterior b-pillar cover, and the driver's door check. I found a guy on eBay with some of that shit, but he's dragging his feet sending me the invoice.

I finished up bagging the front on Sunday, then spent some time chasing down a couple of leaks. I have a leak at the pressure gauge for the rear bags. It is most likely the gauge itself, and not my lines. I'm also still dealing with a leak at the water trap.
My next big project is pulling the front sway bar. Right now, the lowest I can go on the front looks like a 2" drop compared to stock. The sway bar hits the subframe at about 20 lbs bag pressure, and it stops the car from going any lower. It looks to me that there is still another 2" of travel in the front struts that I have to gain.

I've been trying to hunt one of these down for a daily/backup car for some time. I found one in Fall for $700 with a bad headgasket, but didn't want it to be a project. I'm liking what you're doing so far. I wish I still had my Celica Supra P-types to sell you.

Thanks Earl. There's a $500 teal AWD out there on CL right now. I think it needs a transmission, but the body looked pretty solid.

It's getting there. All four corners are bagged, but it doesn't go low enough for me yet. This is completely aired out, subframe resting on the sway bars. Hopefully, a sway bar delete will get me much closer to great success.
