Progress today included placing the air tank in the hatch, deciding where to mount the compressor, building a low profile exhaust, removing a low-hanging tow hook, reinstalling the freshly painted hatch trim, wiring up license plate lights, and getting a wash.

Here is the air tank bolted in. There was a handy 14mm bolt in the floor of the hatch that just so happened to line the tank up flush with the fender well. The compressor fits in that small spot behind the tank, where the air line is coiled up.

This is the large tow hook and axle-back exhaust I removed for more ground clearance when the bags go in.

The tow hook hung about 1.5" below the rear bumper. Here it is off the car.

To remove the axle-back, I had to break out the hacksaw. The flanges and hardware were too rusted to work with.

I didn't want hot gasses melting my tire and bag, so I built a small $10 exhaust section to divert the gasses further to the rear of the car, under the heat-shield. Here it is mocked up.

Then painted with VHT Flame Proof paint.

It's not terribly loud, but I'll probably add a muffler at some point.
    These came in today to.

Hopefully I can find some time this week to get the Aerosports and brackets mounted to the front struts.

The going has been slow. A lot of my time has been sucked into the vacuum of real life. I'm in the midst of moving to Michigan and trying to find a new job there. The Bagovan also keeps shitting out various vital organs. I lost the blower motor yesterday, and the alternator is on it's way out. I have a new alternator to install, which I will need if I expect my compressor to do it's job.
        Some updates.
Here is proof of the plate lights I installed:

I began poking around the engine bay, looking for things I could delete and places to hide wiring and air lines. I instead found a couple sheets of cardboard, wedged between the radiator and condenser:

I couldn't help but notice how grimy the engine bay really was:

I hosed everything down with Purple Power and did some light scrubbing. That's a little better:

So that's where we're at right now.

I have my front struts welded up, and ready to install. I'm going to at least try finish the wiring and air lines tonight. I'm still waiting on Forjworks to ship my rear brackets.

[QUOTE=bagovan;1026143]The center bore is too small. You could have them bored out to the correct diameter. What wheels did you buy?

i bought some 86 toyota corolla gts hatchback snow flakes. i hear they're pretty rare. only made 1 year here in the us i think. i painted the meshies red and polished the lips. looks gooood lol.yeah i found a machine shop that will bore the centers for cheap. man i should start my own thread lol. keep up the good work mate!!

Yeah man, it is. But the driver's side door is yet another shade of white too. I'm really holding out hope that a red reflective LRV garnish will come along at some point. The stock one is in pretty sad shape with lots of broken tabs and a few cracks.

If you can help it, do not buy the manual management kit from Gauge. The air line they include is a complete nightmare to work with.
I'm finally done running lines. Everything I have jammed under my center console:

The lines going through the firewall for the front bags. I'll clean these up once the struts go in.

The bag bolted to the strut.

                And out with old...

                In with the new:

I also starting transfusing fresh ATF into the trans. She was having a rough time shifting into OD above 45 mph, and popping hard into first when coming to a stop. One drain got me 1.75 quarts of dirty ATF. I added that much clean, and the transmission is instantly behaving itself. I'll do that three or four more times until she's smooth as butter.

Forjworks finally shipped out my rear brackets yesterday. Hoping to be on the ground next weekend.

My pleasure. I really enjoy buying neglected 90's turds and polishing them up. I've done this with five other 90's cars now, but this is the first one I've bagged.

I thought about getting the Mitsu Expo grille and headlights, but decided against it. I actually prefer the shape of the Summit headlights, which have to be used with the Summit grille. Here's the Expo front end.

There are other variations of the Mitsubishi grille, and one with a different hood as well.

I'm kind of just twiddling my thumbs, waiting for my brackets to arrive from Forjworks... I got a baller AVS water trap, some more extra fittings, and a single-DIN gauge plate in.

                              Replaced the old blower motor.

Which required me to disassemble the dash.

The air tank with some fittings and lines attached to it. I welcome suggestions for where to mount the compressor.

Does anyone know if this dumbass washer is absolutely necessary? The center bore is pretty large. I feel like it would just slide around in there and scratch shit up when everything is assembled. Without it I can get about 1/4" lower, assuming the strut doesn't bottom out first. Thoughts?

The bearing alone provides more than enough space IMO.

I made a little more progress on the wiring yesterday. I had to reimagine my management layout. I rotated everything at a 45 degree. There are two 14mm bolts in the floor of the hatch that I want to use to secure everything in place. So, it will look like this:

I also got my gen 1 xB brackets in from ForjWorks, and put a few healthy coats of silver paint on them.

Today I need to run a keyed power source to my pressure switch, find an acceptable grounding location for the management, hook up my gauges, and test. If I get all of that done quickly, I can install the bags today as well.
