hey man, I'm sorry i didnt respond earlier my phone gets awful reception, this is allen with the white w115.
can you text me a picture of what exactly your talking about the bolt and everything in the AM?
lol all good, i was getting frustrated and hitting up all the W115 people i knew to try and get help. I gave up and put the car back together and forgot to take a pic. But its the ball joint on the outer end of the front control arm that was giving me problems. Whats the proper way to do this? lol
1: jack up car, put on jack stands, remove front wheels
2: remove swaybar end links, remove shocks, place smaller internal spring compressor disc inside of front coil about half way down, put larger one on top of the spring seat of the subframe. then compress spring
3: mark ecentrics, remove ecentrics, spin lower control arm 180* depress spring
4: done...
you could undo the two bolts on the arm that attaches the tie rod to the hub, then pop the balljoint. i wouldn't do that with out the spring compressed and then you need to have the car pretty high to swing the control arm down to get the spring out. plus it's more work.
Thanks thats quite similar and i was trying to lower the opposite side lol. Im going to attempt it this way but i need to order new lower inner control arm bushings because mine are pretty much non existent.

edit: i don't have a sway bar. forgot to metion
Thanks for the detailed description, i dont have a spring compressor tho im going to try the method from the link above and if that doesn't work ill see what i do
I don't have a spring compressor either that will work and I don't think the standard Mercedes spring compressor will work as I think there is not an opening at the bottom of the control arm of a W108 not sure on a W114/115 [I don't remember but I want to say no, I could be wrong.].
It wasn't that hard for me to do it in the way shown from the manual. Just put the car on jack stands and undo the 4 bolts on each arm as shown in the link with a jack underneath, then when the bolts are out, just lower the jack and the spring will come out fine, just make sure the jack is secured and wont slip.

Im gonna give this method a shot as soon as my new LCA bushings come in
there definitely is an opening at the bottom of the lower control arm to fit the Mercedes spring compressor in there, couldn't remember, its the rear that does not have the opening, at least on a W108. I didn't have a compressor, so dropping the control arms i went. Just ignore the rust on the bumper support....
Ok so my new bushings came in and i tried this method last night, got the sway bar thing off and the shock bolts off. Put the jack under the control arm and tried to take out the 2 inner lower control arm bolts and they just wouldn't give. My workspace and my tools aren't the greatest, but no matter how hard my buddies and I tried, we couldn't get the bolt loose. Based on how the bolt/bushing looked, there's no way they have been touched since 1975. I'm thinking the only way to do this is to have the car up on a real lift, to get the proper wrench on the bolt, and to use some huge breaker bar and use all body weight.

are the bolts seized into the bushings? or the nuts seized onto the bolts? what are you using to break them lose? if you want i'll lend you spring compressors (you pay shipping both ways) i read what your saying. be careful. also i soaked mine down with pb blast and let them sit for a day or two. i hope they aren't seized.
Ok, so I replied earlier but deleted it, after doing som more research, the setup is much different than that of a w108. Try the link below, it should help, if you can get compressor from bobbyjones, that should make your life MUCH easier. Although it seems like one guy on the thread removed the bolts on the spindle side.
