      • If anyone remembers my trunk isn't really an aesthetically pleasing set up. So it is also on my list for the winter. I have been suggesting that several of my friends should do a Bourbon themed trunk since we are from Kentucky (home of several Bourbon distilleries). I was looking at Bourbon barrels on craigslist. I just searched Makers Mark to look for ideas. And was reminded of their ad campaign showing their wax on building and bats and things.

I can't find a good image of the city skylines (was an ad campaign around 9/11 and one of the many buildings their ads used nationwide was the world trade centers).

the final object that made me certain I want to attempt this route was their "Nog" ad

So hear is my tank plan:

Powdercoat the tank transparent copper or some sort of transparent brown to match the bottle. Then find some sort of substance to match the look of Maker's Mark's wax.

In addition I think if the tank looks right and the color is close I plan to run some sort of hard lines as well as moving my management out of the bottom of the trunk in order to plumb the hardlines.

        • I think to achieve the look your going for a powdercoated tank would me better (imo). It would pull everything together if you maybe used "aged" wood to line your trunk and maybe make yourself a makeshift "brand" and burn it into the wood...I think it would/ could look really cool!

Yup. I think powder will be best. Luckily an acrylic paint or wax would be able to pealed off if it looks bad. The makeshift brand would be a good option.

here is what I made messing with photoshop for like 5 minutes. (couldn't get the drips to look right)

            • Yeah man I think it will be cool to have a "themed" trunk. If you get hardlines you can even incorporate a "tap" of some sort to keep with the alcohol theme. lol

                    • I mean id **** to say it but I'm really just throwing out some crazy ideas, what if you plastidip the red onto the tank? It could last for a little bit and then you could redip it or just get one of those shops that do plastidipping to do it so it'll last like a whole season. Think about it. Oh, and get those wheels boi!
                      then i smash yo corolla

thanks for the info. I'm leaning towards a custom grind and just doing stall converter and praying I don't catch traction otherwise I will be buying a 4l80e.

I love them but I need something a little wider.

Good option. I found the wax on a DIY brewing type webstie. I kind of like the wax for a more genuine appearance plus the drips would be hard to achieve in dip.

                        • Small update. I decided on what spoiler I'm going with. This is the legit wing that has been out of production for about a decade. But a high quality replica is now made. Should pull the body lines back to make the rear kind of match the front end

                          • I have seen this thread here and there for quite some time, I really like the direction you went with it for sure! its looking good! I love the idea of the Makers theme, but I think if you did the wax dip on just one end it would look much better then doing the entire top, just IMO Sub'd
