Few raw clips of the exhaust, excuse the weak revs, it was getting late. Better vid soon!

Not much to update really. Car is going good.
Explored an abandoned hospital
Parked the car at the side of the skatepark to listen to some music
It was then I realised that the standard speakers sucked. So I had a rummage in the shed and found my Dad's old audio equipment. Found this pretty old 4 channel Pioneer amp, which should do the trick. My budget is pretty minimal, so I'm going to try and re-use whatever my Dad has in the shed (thanks dad!) and if needs be, I'll upgrade later.
I should also state that I know absolutely nothing about audio equipment, but thankfully I have a few friends that do!
So the plan is to have it all hidden and have the amp power the front speakers and the sub. The have the headunit run the rear speakers, as they're pretty small.
The amp will go here, where the old CD changer used to go. The standard bracket wont work, so I'm making one from aluminum.
Then the sub will go under the boot floor, which will have a whole cut out and mesh put on top so it just looks like the standard floor...that's the plan anyway

Plans sound good for the stereo. Youll be amazed at the difference that just a sub makes already!

So I got the car in the air to try and diagnose a noise I've been hearing sometimes. No closer to finding it, I've no idea what it could be. Might be worn top mounts.
Whilst I was underneath, I decided to inspect some damage.
Then I spotted this.
Yeah. I've been hitting the sump, not just once either. Was a bit sketched out, so I threw my X-Brace on in the hopes that will save it from complete destruction.
It hangs pretty low, but I'll have to live with it hitting if I want to save my sump haha.

Thanks dude, appreciate it.
Well I took the car out last night and the X-Brace hits damn near everything. I might end up taking it off because driving it is not enjoyable at all.
I may look into possibly raising the engine, does anyone know if this has any effect on the wear on the driveline? I'm assuming once you life the engine, the gearbox and prop will be at a weird angle.

I have heard a lot of incidents where the x-brace is the reason why a pan breaks. A skid plate would provide a lot more clearance and wouldn't harm your pan=)
You can raise the engine a bit with new mounts but much more and you will have driveline issues

So whats a "safe" distance between the pan and a skid plate? I can get my index finger between the x-brace and the pan.
Surely if I hit something hard enough it would push whatever it was into the pan? regardless is if it was an x-brace or big plate.

Here you go mate
We are a car performance specialist, garage and parts shop based in Kings Lynn, Norfolk and we offer servicing and repairs. We specialise in BMW, Audi, Porche & Mini but all cars are welcome. Order new parts online and get them fitted at our workshop!
Disco stu on here has one think it was 90 or something and changed the nuts to 8.8 Allen key nuts as ones in the pic I suggested were liable to get hit too often. Stu recently hit a big piece of metal in the road and this guard literally saved his engine from destruction.
Tell Aaron I sent you might get 10% off

Thanks man.
Doesn't look too complicated, might get some steel and try fabbing one up.

Do eeet!
Or just drive around without one like I do, lol. We're not that far off in terms of height, imho it's not really worth worrying about at our ride height. The pan sits nicely tucked up, I'd say the marks come from road debris flying up
