Scott's E36 Touring

I picked up an M3 backbox the other night for a measly, £40. I originally planned on using the 328 backbox I got earlier in the year, but the scrappies had butchered it getting the cats off.

My mate has an M3 and a 328 Touring and he says his M3 is a lot quieter, but I'm hoping its just the M3's mid sections. If it's not any louder then that's fine, I'll at least have something that looks good. Going to fab up a "Y" piece to join it to my single pipe mid section.





I gave it a quick spruce up with 400>800>1200 sandpaper and some autosol polish. Anyone got any other suggestions on metal polish?



I have a Cars & Coffee event next Sunday, then the car goes to the painters on Monday to have the arches, sideskirts and wings touched up.

Had a pretty crappy day at work, so I decided to test fit 5mm spacers to cheer myself up.

Glad I did, because my fitment is now awesome. Or will be when I free off my camber arms.

Fitment before with 17x9j et 26 w 215/40 tyres.





Fitment after with 17x9j with a 5mm spacer bringing the offset to et21 w 215/40 tyres.

I jacked the wheel up and the clearance is baw hair tight. I'm currently at around -2.5 degrees of camber, so I think if I dial in a degree or two more, I should be good.

So i've been driving the car a lot lately. I went up to Ballater/Aberdeenshire with the Team Beard guys for a cars and coffee meet which was great fun. Car ran faultlessly throughout and was suuuper fun on the twisty roads I didn't take many pics because I was driving.







Then yesterday, I got the car back to my painters. I'm doing a few big shows this year, so I'd like to have it looking top notch. It's getting the sideskirts resprayed, as well as the front bumper and a bubble of rust on the arch.

I got the bumper and skirts into primer today. Tomorrow I'll get these painted and hopefully the car into primer.





I went over to a friends place this evening to pick up my foglights. He showed me the engine in one of his customers R33's...

Ummm, I like the silver. It was one of the colours I was happy with when looking for one. If I was to change it...I'd maybe go Steel Blue, Techno Violet or Calypso Red.

Got the car back from the painters on Friday and set about building it back up for the Driftland weekender..which I totally forgot.

I put the fogs back in too, but only one of them works. Going to swap the bulbs out to sidelight ones so I can run them without blinding people all the time.
