That's half the motivation to get this thing on the ground. I'll be too worried about the road conditions and breaking things to be going fast. Haha

        Welp, this weekend was fun.

Friday went up with a list of shit to get done on the car to get it back on the road after sitting for 3 years. Ended up doing JUST enough to get it on the road and put the coils on. Still no power steering, need to make some adjustments on the coils, but the chariot of poo is driving again.

First attempt at height was too low. Was riding on the tires going straight. Had to raise it up a bit, but its still lower that it was before. Cant wait to get smaller tires on this thing.

Now its time to do all the little shit to get it perfect. fix the PS, get rid of these stupid solid mounts that I used to think were cool, clean it up. but the first hump is over.

Cant decide if I like it rack on or rack off. These are all instagram pictures, because I am a hipster.

        Before

During(this was when it was too low)

        After

Mine and the fiances Mk6 on coils. Team wintermode.

And as quickly as I was excited to get it back on the road again, the excitement is gone.

One thing I didnt mention was the fact that the car sat for about 2-3 years outside before I started to work on it. One of the downfalls of this was the rust in the common areas is ALOT worse than any of the other cars out there (yes these cars rust. Under the plastic is a metal spaceframe, and areas a prone to rust.)

Very bad rust around the rear door frames, ALOT of random undercarriage rust, and now the big one, rust on the raintray/around the windshield on the lower drivers corner. It must have gotten worse in the 3 years the car sat. That coupled with the rougher ride of the coilovers, and my fucking windshield cracked the other day. Not going to spend the money to put a windshield in the car if its probably just going to happen again. Looks like it is time to cut my losses with this car and move on to another one.

already found this one local to me. Miles are high, but it looks pretty clean. Just gotta go check it out and figure money out. Unfortunately, this puts wheels on hold even more.

Why do I like cars so much? Why didnt I get into, idk, scrapbooking? Or yoyoing? Fuck.

            Alright, disregard that last post.

Im just going to drive this thing into the fucking ground, save up some money and try to find a super clean/low mileage one from the south or something.

            Go me.

I still don't fully understand why cars that are stood for long periods of time end up in a worse condition than if they were being driven daily. Anyways, I hope you find a good car to replace this one when the time comes for it to die.

Ive always wondered the same thing, to be honest. Who knows. Just the way things work I suppose.

Been a bit since I last updated. Fixed the powersteering so it works, took out the solid mounts, and have been driving the piss out of it. Bought some TSWs, but am selling now. Here is a post from another forum about what I have done the last two days.

Worked on it some this week. Kind of aggravated. As you can see by this picture, one of my coilovers was rebuilt or something, and the wrong damper was put in. The one on the left is the correct front, the one on the right is the correct rear, and the one in the middle is the other front. It is 1/2" longer than the other front. Gonna have to figure out something to do here.

Lowered it some more last night as well. subframe is now just under 3" off the ground.

Test fitted the TSWs I bought last week. Not a fan. Just too small for the wheelwells. and not enough stancey dust things.

So today, I went to a friends and test fitted her wheels. They ARE NOT the wheels I am buying, but the specs are almost exactly the same as the ones I am buying. And let me say, Im very excited now.

The specs on the wheels I fitted are 16x7.5 ET20 front and 16x9 ET15 rear. The ones I am looking at purchasing are 16x7 et15 front and 16x9 et25 rear. I will space out the rear to match what is pictured here. I will also be running more camber to fit them better.

Then a random picture from today to show the new ride height. Ive already blown through both of my fender liners. Rubs hard when turning and over bumps. I have never scraped front lip on anything, and I was hitting it off of everything today. Im in love.

If I were going a different direction with the car, say still auto crossing or something, I'd absolutely love them. They just aren't wide enough and the offsets are too high. Just wasn't a fan if the fitment.

I also want my goddamn tax return, so I can buy wheels and tires.

                                Woo
