I know man, :'( But i just spent $600 on brakes this week so! I'm out of dosh for the next few as I have spent like $2k on the car in the last 3 weeks, and before that I dropped that ton onto bags.
So saving for a bit now!
Really want a turbo 180 or s13 as a thrasher car to take up the mountain or something....
That would be great, do those cars go for a steal there?
Eh, not particularly. they are sort of the 'cool kids cars' over here and everyone pays a premium. :'( but that being said If I can build this whole car I have for >11,000$ then I can sure as heck get one for >2000
But, my accord hates me. I bought brakes this week to put the finishing little touches on this car, SOOOO close to being complete, then all of a sudden the whole clutch just goes from being perfect to eating itself in the span of 20km's..... so the car is parked up and I'm trying to decide what to dooooo. Because im broke and need to find a good deal on a clutch.
Cars looking very good, still not sure on those wheels, not sure if style or size. But keen to see whats next!
Yeah I love the 17's face, but I felt as though it needs more dish. So as to cheat a little im going to try 'step-lipping' the lips (because they are three piece wheels) to 18 inch so it appears to have more dish when really it just steps down.
That should fix the look of being a little to small....
Like the wheels on the car but that back camber is throwing it off
And agreed. Have been meaning to get the guards rolled, in order to play with camber kits in the rear, to fix said camber. however. :'( clutch comes first. No point rolling guards if the car cant come out of the garage under its own power!
Clutch was busted; In the process of purchasing a Stage 2 Exedy 3 puk Racing Ceramic one. Yes its overkill, yes it will be a pig to drive but there is a plan in the works where I will need this.
Got a price from two groups within australia, both times I was like:
At their prices - freaking ridiculous.
Then was searching around the states, found one for hundreds cheaper and so!
Found the new clutch, should be here either next week or week after. Will be change in the coming couple of weeks!
Secondly; brakes are half fitted, as in I got the car onto stands and then got bored. So I will be doing them very shortly provided I don't wreck anything else.
I have yet to roll guards. Still. Damn I'm so lazy. I will get to that with in the coming month also!
The car needs to be ready by april 9th to be driving again, but ultimately needs to be clean and presentable for a huge show on the 28th of april.
Also looking at getting some Rotiform NUE's for this car. someone should totally help me out and sell me some 18's.
Anyway. I have been super disheartened by everything in the way to do with cars this whole last week. I couldn't even bring myself to open my garage to look at my blue boat this week so I didn't even know if it was still in there. My other car - I havent posted it up here before is in no better state. I'm trying to build a show quality accord and a rotor powered skidder, while in uni, with minimal income. 'tis difficult business.
Anyway. So after moping around all week not doing much, finally an update!
I had thrown these underneath my desk and behind it all week so I wouldnt have to look at them as they cost so much money, but I finally pulled out my new rotors and pads and went to town on my car, weeeeeeeeeee.
Anyway, heres what I woke up to on a saturday morning early-ish. I wish I could say I don't do this often, but I have seen this exact sight WAY to many times for my liking, although jacking up the car is INFINITELY easier now that the whole car moves!
anyway, the old brakes looked like ass:
then we got out hands dirty, screwed arond for multiple hours and had everything in a mess (yes this is a rear, I didnt take a progress shot of the front)
And then we finally ended up with this!
So now everything else bar my new struts, brakes and everything looks like an old POS part from 1900 and that it needs replacing. but hey, everything you can see at least with the wheel on now looks beautiful.
I'm honestly surprised we haven't met, considering our close proximity.
I would offer to lend a hand if you needed it, but I can't do anything and my mere presence would undoubtedly break your car more.
Brakes look cool as, get this bish rolling again!
