fuel pump is now 100% in, had to get a few line adapters etc....
also picked up some brake lines and a mint small spline wheel from the best parts guy around!
need a front wheel bearing and some dust shields before i can get the brakes 100% done. Hoping to pick
up some flexible coolant hoses so i can close that all up this weekend.

progress is progress they say, more to come

so bit of a rant coming haha get ready!

spent all god damn night trying to get the drivers side rear brake like off (the shop it was at cut the line when i needed the caliper taken off)
i sprayed wd-40 let it sit all the normal jazz, and the piece of shit just wouldn't come off. After about 2 hours and from me trying to turn it the line
twisted and broke. Now i have to go try and get one from a junk yard without the line doing the same thing:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::bang head:

managed to nicely take off the drivers side front knuckle, i am going to take it in to get a new wheel bearing so i know both are mint before i get it on the road.

27 year old cars can be a a real ^!%# sometimes. i just wanted to get the brakes done butttttt noooo:thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown::facepalm:

hopefully more to come this weekend

So like with every car build you begin to make progress, then it feels like every step forward is 2 steps back.
I think i am finally made what feels like forward progress!!!!!!

-I was finally able to button up my lingering rear brake issue, they are now installed with some cleaned up calipers and fresh pads.
-Rear flairs were installed with some nice flat head black screws

then i found my front sway bar sitting underneath the tool bench and had to pause for a minute and think ("this should have been installed already")
sure enough take a quick glance under the car, NO SWAY BAR motherfu$#^@%&

that means this had to happen, which was just annoying

so i could get to this thing out

all i have to do is re-instal tomorrow morning, then hopefully i can start pulling some parts off the jetta to start swapping into the golf.

Also big thanks to John for the parts, guy needs a medal or something!

        Stay Tuned!

so another small update, but happy to be making forward progress on my little project here:laugh::laugh:

yesterday i was able to reinstall the front sub frame which now has a sway bar.
while i was doing that i also installed the passenger side axle, i need to order a driver side one at some point.
i also reinstalled the drivers side front steering knuckle, miss placed my hardware for the drivers side brake setup so i will
have to source some from the junkyard this weekend then i will be able to button that up and actually put some brake fluid in.

after all that i made just some simple brackets for the intercooler out of some shitty brackets i had lying around. its in there nice and solid now
          ready for some boost.

next up is coolant lines, boost tube welding, and then swap some interior stuff in from my jetta part out.
i have also been working away on my new daily b3 wagon which will be getting new coils this weekend!

so some more slow but boring progress.......

i got bored and pulled the dash from jetta threw it in the golf, refreshed the heater box at the same time. ran the heater pipes.
waiting for a day off to go get my intercooler piping cut and bead rolled, i have some more couplers coming aswell.
this weekend i should be able to pick all of that up, along with a radiator hose joiner for the lower rad hose, which is a bit of an odd ball.
brakes are done just need fluid then i can bleed them. other then that its just a ton of odds and ends. hopefully it keeps coming together!

                    pic for proof haha

i actually got back into the shed and back to work after getting distracted by my new to me b5 a4.

i swapped in the correct brake reservoir and then bled the clutch.
threw on the quad rounds and much to my enjoyment they fit even with the large intercooler.
threw the center console in so i can get an idea of what needs tinkering with.
hooked up the hood release cable.
put my hard rain tray in.

should be more work coming in the very near future as i continue to gather the little bits as i am pretty much piecing together an entire car.

tips or ideas more then welcome!
