In case you have been wondering how eletric aftermarket speedometers work..

This dude comes in the gearbox instead of the speedo cable. It has just a drive pin like a speedo cable, I think it spins a hall trigger of some sort and you just wrench it in. Then connect +/-12v and connect the signal cable to the:

..gauge. Then it's good to go.
You adjust this model conventionally aka change the color coded drive gears inside the gearbox.

Thanks. I have had a couple of these Oldsmobiles as a lad and I always dreamt of building one with a hefty engine and gearbox and suspension and braking to match. U know the "would it be possible to take one of these lunchboxes to the track" -type of talk.

          And the dogs:

Sampo - 3 year old GSD mix
Ahti - 7,5 months old GSD mix
Hampen - 9 years old miniature poodle

You just can't take a picture without a part of a dog somewhere b/c they are practically everywhere.

BTW the steering box did not arrive, the post office had lost it or whatnot. I am also waiting for studded wintertyres, I got stuck everywhere yesterday, that should help.

Ok, now I'm supposed to fab up something here. Maybe something easy-to-remove this time. The plastic inner structure was in bits, about 4"x4" bits, maybe a collision damage or someone just gotten angry removing it...

I'd like to do a glassfibre mold off the old dash and do a CF one but I'm not sure if I'm up to it.

Stock up on lots of aluminum sheet and sheet metal screws. Either outright fab your own or you can do all sorts of deletes and panels in your existing dash. That would definitely fit the race theme of this car, and possibly make servicing parts easier.

I decided to do full custom CF dash. I'm making a buck out of plywood once I have finished my porch. I'm thinking of doing all sorts of stuff on CF too, bumpers, hood, fenders etc.
I'll stick the stock gear, heater panels and vents to a straight CF plate and drill gauge holes to it, then I was thinking of attaching all the fuses and relays and ecu to it. Maybe even some Audi A4 cupholders while I'm at it.

In the meantime, I'm hauling lumber and woodchucking the porch.

Oh yeah, also I bought VEMS EFI, COP's, trigger wheel, Audi 316@3bar nozzles and a hydraulic e-brake.

I'll try to get these mounted tomorrow.

Not much happening, just driving around in it and waiting for parts. More pics when the new tyres are in.

Uh oh, the fitment is way off, you could slap in 2" spacers and the wheels would still tuck. And I'm laying crossmember and the wheel is nowhere near the fender.
