First hot tank it for a couple of days, then align bore it with arp main studs, deck it, install it with new bearings and gaskets, some oiling mods, external oil cooler and high volume oil pump, xe268 cam... Stock 2-bolt 305. Might bore it and slap in some .020 over flat-top pistons too.

Do yourself a favor: throw the 305 in the garbage and source a 350.

305's are good for boat anchors and coffee tables.

I was hoping for a Rocket 350 at the least. They're torque monsters but even they seem disappointing compared to other Olds offerings like the mighty 455.

Also interested to see what gets done to the rear suspension since this is looking like quite the 1/4mi car.

I was going to put a 350 olds to it but I had a spare 305 from my previous ride so it was a no brainer. Maybe later I'll change, I'm building this to be a keeper.

I could enlighten you guys about the rear brake conversion, I have a spare aftermarked axle set up for BMW bolt circle.

So your axle flange center will be ground down to the size of a BMW rear hub and the correct bolt circle drilled.

Then you measure where the backing plate meets the axle housing...

And draw a flange to mount the backing plate and the caliper.

Then it's just up to fabbing sht up.

The backing plate clearance should be around 1/2"

And the brake caliper mounts about 10mm further than the backing plate.
Hope this clears up a bit, I'll post pics when I'll do the 10b version. I still need the C-clip eliminators and my hydraulic press back for it. The oem wheelstuds are 1/2" press-on, I'll change them to Grayston M12 screw-ons and 5x5" bolt circle to 5x120mm.

Still snowing, BUT I got the steering wheel, and ordered an factory refurb 2gen Camaro "Z" quick steering box, 2,5 revs from lock to lock. I glued the windscreen back on and use it as a daily now. FTW.

Sorry, no real updates even today. We got around 12" of snow and I taught my GSD to drive to the post office to pick up parts while I am at work. The quick steering box should be in today!

The situation now. 8"-12" of snow, shitty wintertyres. Just finished testing the autometer gauges, all work just fine. Tomorrow I'll try to fit the gauges in the dash.

Kimi Raikkonen said it the best, in Finland we have the fishing and the fucking...and in the winter the fishing is bad.

(I lived btw half a mile from the track in the video a couple of years ago.)
