Has anyone tried a set of these, just a direct replacement 30 spline steel axles and 30 spline spider gear kit. I'm just debating on these.

I'm just waiting on the parts now. Motivation and free time would be handy some day too. AND SEEING THE F..N MAILMAN WITH MY PARTS. The rear axle will be ~4 inches shorter than the old one so I may have to cut and narrow the frame a bit but that is just one of the issues I am fighting as they come along. F/T.

I might even lift the bodyshell off the frame altogether to wash it and try to derust it a bit somehow as the body will be welded to the frame.

          3.42 rear end gears

          30-spline steel axles.

30-spline spider gears and steel cross-shaft for the stock posi.
It will be around 60" wide from flange to flange.
The Mark Williams c-clip eliminators did not fit the "direct replacement axles" so I am now waiting for Strange ones instead and doing some glassfiber molds.

Tomorrow I'll start doing molds. First bumper and hood, then fenders and tailgate. And bulkhead and radiator support.

8 layers of carnaubawax and some duct tape.

This is how too much hardener in gelcoat looks like...

Gelcoat on. Next: Glassfiber on and fab up some bracing and woodwork to the mold.

              BTW sold the F-bird.

Ok, a gallon of resin lasted this far. 3 layers of mat.

F/T everything is closed so I'm kinda stuck to this stage until saturday or sunday.

Thanks. Gotti's are one of my all-time favorites, I just have to make them fit this.

                        Ok liek dis.

My friend will tig the valve holes shut so I can drill new ones to the "rear" sections and mount them this way. IDK is it bad or good, but wtf, they sell 12" wheels on 3,5" backspacing so I think this is okayish. At least I don't need to shorten the frame and the wheels don't tuck in several inches.

I'm still debating on the color.

I think the turbodiesels are made in the Finnish Bible-Belt.
I'm having a couple weeks break with the build, I just spent last of my money to get audi through the mandatory tech inspection.

Next up would be the new rear end, then I'll go for the wheels and then front brakes and a-arms. I'll also try to get the twin turbo kit before I'm done with the front end so I can fit all the coolers in to the front end area all at once.
