  • Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser 1985

    So I bought an Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, 1985 model. Most of you don't know I bet but it was popular during the nineties to import these and convert them to vans so you did not pay taxes for it.
    Converting was done by removing the rear seat and putting a "80" sticker to the tailgate to show you are driving a van not supposed to exeed 80 kmh.

    I'm going to do:
    * Paint
    * Coilovers
    * AMG SL55 front brakes
    * BMW 730 rear brakes
    * BMW 540 brake main cylinder
    * SBC 305
    * TH2004R
    * 2800 stall turbine
    * 268h cam
    * NOS
    * 3" exhaust with an X
    * 2.73 8.5" 10b locker rear, edelbrock control arms
    * '65 Impala front hubs
    * 2 gen camaro z28 quick steering
    * Rh X-Rad 8,5x17 front 10x17 rear
    * clean up the rear compartment for the dogs

    Objective to this project will be a reliable street car doing 13sec for 1/4 mile.
    Safe enough to let my girlfriend take the dogs to the summer cottage.
    Fast enough to participate some street races.
    Quiet enough to drive 4-6 hours straight.
    Anyone interested so far?

              Lol!

              My bro and I use to own one of these things as a winter beater, only ours was a Pontiac and it was baby blue with the wood siding. That car was a beast, so prefect for booze cursing back in high school days.

              God dam that car was good times, rust eventually took it from us. Must admit thou we never thought about making it a low rider of any thing "proformance".. (except that time the flex pipe broke and we ran it open headers for a winter)

              I will be watching what happens here.

                    Oh yeah, here's the coilovers. Dual adjustable AfCo up front, single adjustable Strange on the back. I think I'll need stiffer springs at least for the front, I bought 450Lbs springs and they seem too soft, maybe around 650-700. Rears are 175.

                        Please be sure to do a proper documentation of your work. I would appreciate that. Btw, I laughed at the gas tank.
