thanks man, i kinda like the raw look. If the car is too nice then you cant enjoy it as much. Always worried about scratching the perfect paint or the perfect wheels or the spotless interior.

dont get me wrong- i like things clean and taken care of, but im not gonna treat it like glass if you know what i mean.

out here im constantly having to use dirt roads and i tend to grate the whole road, but being plated and having armor it hinders me not. i plan to build another jeep out here to go wheeling in but that will have to wait till i have my own house. i like to have both worlds.

so i built this upper fan shroud piece the other day. have not painted it yet or finished how it mounts on the sides, but it works. keep in mind i mounted an electric fan in front of the radiator to clean up/ free up space in the bay.

Here is a picture of the fan mounted to the removable radiator support with the radiator moved out of the way. This is the front shroud. keeps the air between the fan and the surface only. no loss of cooling. i have about 3/4 in between the radiator and the front shroud.

some pics showing the removable front.

              front back on

all these pics are before it was actually dropped, just on a moderate setting.

                  thanks mang.

figured i would post the evolution of the skid plate i guess.
                  original setup.

the motor was raised to put the pan above the front sub-frame and the plate mounted through the rack bolts and the front rad. support. (just like all the other brands (IE: red46, race skids, etc...) but my plate extends farther back to protect the actual sub-frame and from things catching on the sway bar.

this worked fine for awhile before i actually got low. and was grinding the heads off of the bolts pretty much daily. decided to change it up and add "ears" that let the rear mount up into the sub-frame; thus keeping the bolts safe and removing any added stress to the rack.

no good pics but here are a few.

dont mind the warped plate. i welded on some "wear bars" on the bottom and like a retard i didnt wait to let it cool. plans for a new plate are made with changes with how the front mounts. i no longer want to mount it to the front support and will weld in a hoop that it will go from the frame rails.( just like the severe duty plates)

some pics with the front all the way down.

after using and grinding around for 2 years or so the plate was trashed.

i hit a rig tire on the freeway early in the morning and got air born. plate saved my motor.

well i was too low to not have a plate for the rest of the week till i could make another, so i bent it back into shape to use. two days later i went through a bad transition.
Things happened. The plate was tweaked and thin from the Daily Grind that it flexed up and tapped the pan.

i replaced the pan and built another plate. i didnt take any pics of the new plate but it is the same design. mounting ears up on the sub-frame etc... yet to build the loop between the frame rails for the front. meh.

                  some of the exhaust plating.

i have other plates going down the exhaust but dont really have pics of them.

some motor shots i took. nothing is really finished/ just drivable

my brother gave me the plastic trim that goes over the plug wires. im very happy about it.

some better shots showing the fuse box relocation/ battery tray trimmed up and the strut braces

fuse box sits under the dash now

still lots of wires to tuck up but the knee bolster covers all of this.

found some other pics from the build:
during the fuse box relocation. This is the whole wiring harness/ front lights to the rear lights

                          without any modification, just wheels.

                                painted the upper radiator shroud.

finally got in my broadway static redial bearing upper hats

                                and the thrust washer kit

fits together well with the pillow ball mount camber plates

these will be installed with the e46 LCA's that i already modified to work with my M3 offset UMHV CAB's (Condor race shop) that are installed.

these will replace the old JOM front coils and adjusters.

the fine threaded adjuster had started to get loose and i didnt want to risk a mis-hap. the JOM coils are progressive from 2.5 up to the stock 60mm spring hat. getting replaced with 6in Hyper Co. coils. cant remember if they are 400 or 450lb spring rates

the rear is already on 4in 500lb Hyper Co. coils- but no longer on the jom adjuster as pictured. got a square cut adjuster now. the fine threaded one had already failed.

and for those wanting to know. the front is on bilstein IX HD's that i got new for a steal.

and the rear has Camero AGX adjustables.(not short enough) pretty close to bottoming them out all the time. need to source some threadeed bodied ones from another coil over kit- not sure what though.
