my brother had cutout his spare tire well, so we cut it to make the new inner fenders. mock up.

can barely see, but welded in support so the towers dont move when i cutout all that metal, at the same time i physically removed the entire wiring system out of the car, then reinstalled it so that the fuse box stayed under the dash and only the engine wires came out. no cutting, no extending any wires. (except one power wire from the power block that is adjacent to where the stock fuse box was)

    before any work was done,

    made some cuts;

shows the square battery tray that poked into the fender well. on the black 86 i was physically running into that and the actual strut towers. like the towers hitting the tire. hence the inner fender work.

this is before i cut into the strut towers.

    after

only got pics of one side

also decided to make the front removable. and a lil paint

      tear-down of the motor

      fun clutch yeah?

plan is rebuild head, re seal the motor and trans.

      polished intake;

clean up block- new main seals, water pump, clean up pan, high temp paint etc..

      rebuilt and cleaned up head

      wrinkle valve cover

intake, timing belt, and covers, thermostat housing, pullys (but ended up not running the second pully)

      new clutch, re-surfaced flywheel

Install is a brease when the front is removable:

new e36 radiator with built in tank. (keeps the fenders clean)

      Front back on.

      runs great!

      crappy bay pic.

first test run was a blast

Mind i had already swapped over the bumper shocks and bumper surounds from my 86. the 84 ones are pretty ugly.
The rear is getting work done as well, so its just sitting high lol

TEASER for the rear end stuff in the next post

My favourite BMW model right here!
Love the dedication to the static! Damn that runs low! Smashed sump made me laugh though...
Azev A's are the perfect wheel for that car right now, IMO. I love Azev's
          Yellow lights look amazing too.

            thanks man, appreciate it.

its come a long way. i had to finish the car (enough to drive) because i was getting married and was gonna end up without an actual garage .Still dont have a garage, so many things still need to be finished. most of it is raw in my opinion. i kinda like it. but i never seem to have nice things like i always see posted. i could never fork out the cash for a nice paint job, and the only way i got these wheels was because they cam on a car i bought (the guy didnt really know what they were)

this site has REALLY slowed down. i guess that's just life- i find that now i hardly ever go on the internet with my computer because of the countless hours i realized i had wasted just being on so many forums. sure on my phone i may check facebook and see a few pics from pages i liked; but that is kinda just it. new comers will have to pick up the slack.

as promised. the rear end stuff. what you guys didnt realize is that before i got my new wheels i had been an idiot and (showing off) i hit a curb in a drift... bent the wheel, broke my half shaft, bent the shock, and tweaked the old sub-frame in a bad way.

half shalf balls that fell out.

not too bad right?! haha anyway

so, i like my purple. get over it. This is the new subframe with the 'weld in' camber and caster kit.

notice that for the camber plates installed we actually raised up the slots to that i have greater correction for my negative camber. every little bit helps.

also invested in a Revshift poly kit. this kit was the 12mm riser kit (also to help correct negative camber) as well as new steel braided lines around the whole car.
decided to A frame the trailing arms for rigidity and brake the shock tower.

When raising the sub-frame you also have to drop the diff the same distance so you dont screw up your drive-line. the kit came with all the hardware to do so.

                  all buttoned up

                  INSTALLED:
the riser kit gets you as high as you can go without underside modification.

issue i ran into. if i was all the way down in the rear it would pinch the filler hose for the gas tank. not exceptable. so i flipped the hose and cut out under the rear seat and had to re-shape the metal so the hose curves upward into the car. easy fix. and had to cut the steel nippels(bump stops) that would normally hold the stock springs and pads.(but thats a given if you are used to slamming cars)

NEW TIRES. was running some 205/45 falkens and honestly they ran narrow and with the rim protector bead- it looked stretched to me. its only a 7.5 wheel .

now running 205/50 BFG sport comp2"s these run wide and i love it. its a meaty look and i want more. cant decide of what tires to get next because i want the same look( maybe wider? i just dont know how it would look) i want it to bulge like these do.

the front fender will not pull any higher or farther out without cutting and adding metal. so what if i rub at 1/4 lock? haha i can still turn full lock- just pulls on the fender really hard. nothing really since thats only at low, parking lot speeds.

completely forgot. i swapped the front from the black 86 es onto the car. i wanted to be able to run that valance and the 84 front is a lot different

comparison pic. old front, also the old falkens

                    86es front with new tires

only issue is that to roll low with big rubber you have to pull alot. so when im actually going straight my front and rear fenders stick out like crazy haha

                    other pics i have taken;

at my dads to fix my low muffler

                    it sat really low. haha

ONLY rolling shot i have of this car. my brother snapped it with his phone on our way to a meet

little photo shoot of my brothers e36 and mine

then. moved to Alabama. i raised the front and rear as much as possible and put a coulpe hundred pounds of steels and car parts in the trunk and drove this car the 2,000 mile trip in two days at this height. did very very well

have not dont much since iv been here since i have no garage and busy with the new job and all that. but here are some pics of the car as is. daily driven

my brothers e30 truck we made if california before he moved out here. (his truck did the 2,00 mile trip with ease as well) and he pulled the e30 trailer we built before he left. dont know if i have pics of the trailer, but its my old black 86 that we used.

of course im out here a week and my polished fender starts to rust haha ran like this in california for months without issue. even washes. just new things to get used to.

i guess i didnt really explain everything very well, build wise, i was kinda just dumping all the photos i had in a somewhat oranized way.
few recent pics. added a rear bumper strip on the front and relocated the turn signals behind the grill.

gotta have a selfie with your ride haha
