That would definitely be a cool combo though, given the raw interior. That would sort of give it a post-apocalyptic, almost steampunkish kind of look. With the wild rear fenders and raw seats, I think a rugged/raw look is what you should be going for. All my opinion, of course.
My thoughts exactly. Post-Apocalyptic is the look I'm going for.

          • Small update. We sealed up the back side of the rear fender and layed down the last skim coat of bondo. Also cut out the rust from the spare tire well.

            • So today, I picked up my air tank at a swap meet. Its a vintage fire extinguisher that im going to tap. Should look good mounted against the rear seat wall. Some copper hardlines should really set the tank off.

              • Nice! Old fire extinguisher are the best and will fit the theme quite well. Can't wait to see more, did you settle on the color choice?

                • Thanks, I keep changing my mind but I think flat olive green is going to my final decision. I'm having trouble finding a place to get it pressure tested for 200psi. The tank says it can hold 500psi but that was a long time ago.

                      • Tonight the trunk finally got sealed up. Cut out the rust and patched it all up before it got primed and painted. Next up, I need to redo the trunk floating floor.
Pics will be uploaded in the Am.

Cant you just get a valve that will measure up to 200psi and then hook the tank up to an air compressor and pump air into the tank till it hits 200psi? Maybe put it under water or spray it with soapy water to see if it leaks.

                          • Why 200psi? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think anything over 150psi is usually unnecessary.

I guess i could do that, but the whole point of getting the tank pressure tested is so it wont explode in my face. I know the odds of the tank actually exploding are slim but i like the way my face looks.

150 is probably still to high.

Well I dont know put it under something or behind something while testing. if anything pops off it will most likely be a fitting, or a seam will crack. I dont see anything actually going BOOOOM! Just make sure it bolted down to something so it doesnt rocket off if something pops.
